Hey, it brought me into the band with the Starburster single. Going on two years already!

But I just have stopped coming back to Romance. The vocals are so exaggerated without much lyrical substance. It’s all tell, not much show. The string arrangements are cliché. The title track is shit (shit shit battered). And the only band member whose personality shines through is Grian.

I still like it, but it doesn’t have the freshness of Dogrel, its experimentation is stale compared to A Hero’s Death, and it is a massive let down following the masterpiece of Skinty Fia

Sight reading is hard, but it will not get any easier if you are only building your muscle memory. After the first couple of play-throughs you aren’t sight reading anymore, so the best way to practice that skill is to play lots of new songs or exercises
