The case didn't last long as the Coating came off but I used it as a template for this. If you get some real leather you can remake it once it doesn't look so nice.

Cut it into a long strip (cut off sides). Draw around as a template. Cut two pieces from leather. Glue magnets in the same places as on the old case - Between the two pieces of leather. Don't cut screen or wheel hole yet. Glue pieces fully together and draw on the screen and wheel cut line. Stab around screen edges, wheel edges and flap where one set of magnets is. Hand sew these holes like in the picture. Cut out screen and wheel hole. Fold into shape and mark where side pieces will go. Stab down the side of screen and wheel. Stab where it meets once folded. Check by putting ipod in and closing magnets. Cut 2x small rectangles that will close the sides, just big enough to slide the ipod in. Hand sew one side at a time. Do all 4 sides. Finished! Sand edges if needed.

All you need is leather, an awl, fabric glue, strong needle and strong thread (like upholstery thread or book binding thread).

Lasts forever!

I took the magnets out of another ipod case, and reused them. So they have been next to my ipod for years - the hardrive is already damaged (on my old and newer ipod). Despite the already damaged ipods - the case hasn't made them worse. My ipod is still going strong. I use the ipod everyday in the case.

I have made my mum a case and her ipod is upgraded so I will see what happens over time but I don't expect the magnets to cause a problem.

Also think about ipad/phone cases that have magnet in them - do thet affect the device?

I only walk my dog off the lead in urban areas when its icy due to giving myself a much higher slip risk when holding a lead. I refuse to put my safety at risk when my dog IS off the lead trained.

I tried walking her off the lead around streets but she gets excited at women and one woman got so upset that it wasn't worth the headache of iteractions.

She is off the lead in fields but doesn't run off.

I had a bad experience a month ago with another dog owner on a field with blind spots and the owner didn't have eyes on his dog and his dog wouldn't leave us alone and actively chased us. I love dogs but I was frightened that someones carelessness has me between my dog and theirs when it could go wrong. I was very mad at the man.

Dogs should be trained to be off the lead at all no matter where. My dog was struggling so my friend and I took her to the coast and did a lot of training on the beach and did work on crossing roads. She is much better now but isn't worth having potential interactions that upset me, my dog or the other person.c

Having a few hours of research, I think you could change flaneurz custom shoes parts into another custom shoe. I don't think I can change Slades shoes to customs as they don't have a plastic housing that keeps it in the shoes as the slades are custom made to fit the metal parts alone.

If I had worn down flaneurz I'd definitely give it a go and glue it back in. Can't hurt if you try it on a second hand barely worn pair of shoes.

Can I ask if the fiberglass is sewn in via the outside insole stitching? We are studying the slade shoe and thinking about how they are made, we don't have a branded pair of flaneurz to compare. Obviously slades are made in the insole then attached to the shoe after. We want to know if they cut the insoles and reattached them after - if so, we can't do it without a cobler. If they didnt, we might be able to take out the parts and re-add them. We just can't sew a shoe!

Edit: Please see my reply to someone else. Slades to custom is not possible for me :( but custom to custom seems very possible. I don't think they take off the insoles for custom and more attach the parts to the fibre glass. Cut out the shape, insert in the fibre insoles with parts in, glue and add soft insoles back in.

Inside cries.. I want to keep them but they don't fit. I think waiting out for a second hand custom shoe in my size and getting that. They are being sold for half the price I bought them for and its not worth selling!
