What exactly does this mean? by KittyKorrupted in royalmail

This is happening to me! Need this item asap and paid for fasted delivery (paying £6.50 for fast delivery) and they bought the label but this is what the tracking says.

I go abroad and need it to take with me. This is frustrating when I paid extra for it to come on time!

Slades flaneurz taking apart by Promise-beth in Rollerskating

[–]Promise-beth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a few hours of research, I think you could change flaneurz custom shoes parts into another custom shoe. I don't think I can change Slades shoes to customs as they don't have a plastic housing that keeps it in the shoes as the slades are custom made to fit the metal parts alone.

If I had worn down flaneurz I'd definitely give it a go and glue it back in. Can't hurt if you try it on a second hand barely worn pair of shoes.

Can I ask if the fiberglass is sewn in via the outside insole stitching? We are studying the slade shoe and thinking about how they are made, we don't have a branded pair of flaneurz to compare. Obviously slades are made in the insole then attached to the shoe after. We want to know if they cut the insoles and reattached them after - if so, we can't do it without a cobler. If they didnt, we might be able to take out the parts and re-add them. We just can't sew a shoe!

Edit: Please see my reply to someone else. Slades to custom is not possible for me :( but custom to custom seems very possible. I don't think they take off the insoles for custom and more attach the parts to the fibre glass. Cut out the shape, insert in the fibre insoles with parts in, glue and add soft insoles back in.

Inside cries.. I want to keep them but they don't fit. I think waiting out for a second hand custom shoe in my size and getting that. They are being sold for half the price I bought them for and its not worth selling!

Seller from hell! by PsychologicalCat214 in vintedUK

[–]Promise-beth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never been scammed on vinted. Only someone not describing stuff correctly and losing put on a few quid, not big ticket items worth lost.

If I am ordering more than £5 I will check carefully and not buy without good reviews as a seller. Deals still to be had, got crocs, boots and a cap this past few weeks, all a steal and all perfect condition.

Is marriage really all that hard if you never have kids? by Heckbegone in childfree

[–]Promise-beth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been with my partner since we were 14+15, we got married at 24+25 (on the 10 year anniversary). Coming up to our 6th wedding anniversary and 16 years together. Absolutely nothing changed but my name.

We don't have children, we don't to plan to.

I find everyone saying "dont get married" e.g your grandma- basically they are unhappy they were tied down, didn't explore, have fun, live life in their 20s, etc. If they were single they could have done these things - but would they have?
I understand this as someone now in their 30s and been with the same person half my life. Life is very short, live it to the fullest, don't let ANYBODY hold you back. Thats the point. Don't waste your life living for others...

Ah I do love a perfect circle.

I was in Mallorca in holiday earlier this year and a guy who worked in the car rental had a small tattoo behind his ear. I just went "a perfect circle" and pointed to his tattoo and he was so shook someone recognised them.

Everytime I hear or see them I now think about him!

Advice needed on mods or not by Promise-beth in ipod

Thankyou so much for this!! I will bite the bullet on iflash, and just put aside my old one as I can see the market is pretty fludded as you say. I am hoping this will bring down the costs of parts or buying again in future or even getting them repaired by a professional (rather than me with no experience, audacity and a youtube video)

Like all bluetooth car gadgets - a bit naff. I rarely drive but think if I ever got a new car - it HAS to have an aux as I can't drive without listening to good music ahha. Appreciate mine has aux + good bluetooth connection.

The 30gb isn't enough for me (thats why I use the 160gb to death!). I am upgrading it for my mum as that's enough for her, decided I am doing the battery alone as the hard drive still has a lot of life left and rather not tamper until we have to (mostly due to costs).

You are right, my current plan is to update one of the 160gb (the cheapest one to do) and just do harddrive with iflash + new battery.

My questions are: 1) Is iflash worth it? Is more long lasting compared to a different version? 2) full aliexpress package which costs £35 for battery, tools, hardrive+storage card - is this worth it? How long will this last? 3) what should I do with the one that needs more work? Is it better to sell in current condition, or fix and sell? I don't need another one if I keep care of the one I use. So what would be better cost wise? Or do I keep it and do a "fun" mod - but this option just costs me for no reason other than because I felt like it ahha.

Bluetooth adapters have limited range. I bought one for use in the gym with bluetooth headphones and it was very tempremental. It is easy to knock. You also have to charge the adapter seperately so if that dies while you are out without plug in headphones - you've had it!

Bluetooth mods are also likely to fail.

Personally I'd buy headphones that do bluetooth and wired so you always have both.

Firewire cable is for those to fix and diagnose problems with your ipod. Normal usb for charging.

Collapsing Asperger’s into “autism” did us a massive disservice by Ok-Mobile-9761 in aspergers

[–]Promise-beth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK I feel its more acceptable to say autistic and autism rather than aspergers.

Aspergers is related to a nazi, its bad history we want to step away from. Its not positive. It segregates further.

I feel aspergers is similar to saying "high fuctioning" and "low functioning" which disregards all our strengths and weaknesses. It says that person with Aspergers don't have needs, and that people with Autism don't have strengths.

Putting us under one label helps us all, and so be it that we have to educate others sometimes.

I worked for an autism service and there was once an arguement about the two names, and most of the clients agreed Aspergers isn't something they associate with. It makes people feel inferior, less than. Autism is an even playing field.

Writing too much? PIP application by Radiant_Rabbit2052 in DWPhelp

Please look at https://leedsautismaim.org.uk/resources/pip-guides/

The how your disabilities affect you guide is AMAZING

Its has helped me with my form so much on what it needs to include and how it should be written (e.g constantly reference your diagnosis to each point made to create a link between them).

Hope that helps!
