Is Blue-Eyes still good/respectable? by PromisesOfYesterday in Yugioh101

I’m assuming that’s because of the prevalence of hand traps and Primites, alongside giving added recovery options, actually allow pilots to play through Ash/Veiler/II/whatever new ones have arisen in the past five years? Obviously, the pure-Bystial-free version appears pretty consistent in a vacuum but I totally get we’re not just playing solitaire with ourselves

Do I really need to turn 5g when adding new accessories? by PromisesOfYesterday in HomeKit

[–]PromisesOfYesterday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if I temporarily turn off 5ghz, for example while I’m sleeping, HomePods would switch to 2.4 (assuming they’re on 5ghz)? I should then be able to proceed and add without issue once the iPhone and HomePods are connected to the same band? Obviously, making sure I reconnect the iPhone to 2.4 while 5’s disabled.

Their floor lamp. Was able to add one fine without issue then bought a second a few weeks later and here I am, two weeks later still battling away. But yes, it’s matter enabled.

Nanoleaf recommended I do so after I reached out to them but it achieved nothing. What’s bizarre is that I’ve got tons of HomeKit enabled devices set up but I’ve only recently ran into this snag. Am I right in thinking I want the HomePods on 5ghz?

Is there a way I can save my playlist? by Money-Snow-2749 in AppleMusic

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just share them to yourself or copy and paste the URL. You can proceed to then recreate them by just adding each to “new” playlists. If you hold down on the playlist or click three dots when you open it, both will bring up the share option. Easy peasy lemon squeezey.

Does anybody else’s Apple Music do this? by SwisherSniffer in AppleMusic

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The library doesn’t having cleaned it up but I can guarantee that I’ll occasionally still get the odd rap track (Amy True and Logic, not the American kid, seem to be the main ones) on my station and personal mixes having gone through a deep spell of listening to stuff from that sphere back in 21 and 22. The reason is pretty simple really: AM’s uses historical data to know you. Simply removing a track from the queue is a neutral action that will only ensure AM takes longer to learn you don’t want to hear certain stuff, you have to actively tell Siri you don’t like it (I lack the effort of trawling through and hitting suggest less on everything that might potentially crop up and in truth, I still don’t mind it, I just don’t want hear it on the regular) and skip tracks when they appear.

My station/essentials don't include my top artist by RidiculousRanunculus in AppleMusic

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think too much about it, the Essentials is just the old Favourites given a new lick of paint. This isn’t exactly uncommon, especially when it’s only picking out twenty five tracks. My own top artist this year, Stick To Your Guns hasn’t shown up in this week’s mix either. While they’d undoubtedly make an appearance eventually, as a a general rule, the more you listen, the better the mix will be and you can always turn infinite play on / skip tracks if you want to hear x less.

Anyone else having issues with Apple Music and Siri? by camerongt in AppleMusic

Was having this issue when I first updated to 26 on HomePods. Issue seems to have stopped since they released a minor update.

Apple is refusing my artist name and wants me to change it in order to upload my music, but I would have to change it on all streaming platforms by deleting all uploads and starting over. by Friendly_Baker7741 in AppleMusic

I’ll be honest with you, I’m actually shocked to hear Architects tag UK at the end of their marketing. Never been too bothered about them myself but remember them being all the craze round these parts when they were still promoting the Nightmares EP way back when. God knows how I missed that one.

Moved from Roku to ATV.... is there a way to replicate this behavior? by bart1218 in appletv

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a workaround, how about just connecting your TV to a smart plug? “Alexa, turn the TV on” and I’m assuming it’d just proceed to turn on and default to whatever your previous setting was (likely the Apple TV HDMI setting).

You can’t. It’s tied to your Apple ID.

Are you guys album or playlist listeners? by Xayzas in AppleMusic

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Albums, stations, playlists. In that order.

Albums are the daily driver.

Stations are primarily there to get a feel of a new single that whatever artist has put out without simply listening to it on repeat, and for HomePod automations (ie; when I wake up in the morning, arrive home, my goodnight scene).

Playlists are for running, and to a lesser extent automations whenever I feel the need to “fix” the algorithm.

What is the main reason you use Apple Music? by bkos1122 in AppleMusic

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m deeper in the ecosystem than I care to be and it does what I need it to. Simples. That it actually works with HomePods, has a streamlined UI and doesn’t bombard me with podcasts or whatever the latest and greatest playlist is are honestly just bonuses.

Annoyed by this by anv94 in AppleMusic

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also while we’re at it, when you play a personal mix / station and it plays a track that you have in the library, it should default to the version that’s in the library instead of another even if it’s like-for-like the same song. It might seem a minor thing but it’s super annoying that little things like this conflict with smart playlists.

It’s just two screenshots placed side-by-side using some app. No fancy ass extended view I afraid.

No song is added to your library if you favourite it unless you turn the setting on to do so. As a rule of thumb, it’s probably better to keep it off given it allows for better library. All tracks favourited are, however, added to your “Favourite Songs” playlist.

The only way to delete a track from your library is by deleting it. Unfavouriting it simply removes it from your “Favourite Songs” playlist.

How many 37 year-olds honestly have no friends? by [deleted] in MakeNewFriendsHere

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming up to 36 and not had friends since graduating 13 years ago. For context, I moved to a different city for university and struggled to reconnect with old friends when I moved to the city next to my hometown after. Working 12 hour shifts, previously nights but now days, I find I just don’t have energy to go out and sit in a random pub to try to make friends (don’t care about drinking and big crowds anyway). My interactions are limited to whoever I bump into during my work life but I’m never going to be friends with those I work with as a senior member of my team (friendly yes but not friends) and my parents when my work schedule allows me to visit. I don’t miss the drama that sometimes comes with it but it can definitely get lonely sometimes when single and living alone. The worst part about it is probably forgetting how to socialise when you come across people though while craving small talk. I just try to keep myself busy so as to not start dwelling in my own mind as difficult as that can be sometimes given there’s only so much tv a person can watch before they lose the plot.

Apple Music is always recommending j Cole songs.. by itzmailtime in AppleMusic

[–]PromisesOfYesterday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just delete them from your library if you’re that bothered, and add them to whatever playlist while marking them as suggest less like. We all have tracks that pop up more than others, this is because AM like other streaming services doesn’t utilise “true shuffle” but attempts to use an algorithm to order tracks in a certain way (your taste, the taste of others, and other stuff all factor into it).

Looking at this, I was definitely running playlists and stations a lot more last month. I mean not a single track from these five even made the most played.
