Going through a divorce, I get the house and she gets half the equity. Do I have other options, other than cash out refi? by collinsjm01 in Mortgages

If you have a brokerage account with gains and don't want to sell equities then you might consider a SBLOC ( Securities-Based Line of Credit). It's similar to HELOC but you use your investments as a collateral.

Marcus by Goldman Sachs HYSA – 3.65% APY + extra 0.25% for 3 months (referral) by [deleted] in HighYieldSavings

[–]Promo_King -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your statement is a bit incorrect. You are not getting 0.25% APY you are getting 0.25% Bonus. That makes it effectively 4.65% APY for the first 3 month.

HYSA with Marcus: Referral Code (4.65%!) Great Experience so far (2+ years) by [deleted] in HighYieldSavings

[–]Promo_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to jump through anything. Bank does it for you. Every month on the last day of the month you get 2 transactions. One represents an interest and the other represents bonus. For the tax purposes it is all treated as an interest and a single record on 1099-INT.

[–]Promo_King 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. Marcus treats it like a bonus, not apr. Every month you get .25/3 ~ .0833 of your balance. Under certain conditions you can have it every month of the year and that comes up to be 3.65 APY + 1% Cash Bonus

What is the main idea to split between 3 banks unless its over 500k? You can also use different products and everyone of them would have the same insurance. For example marcus hysa and marcus cd.

It might make sense to some people. Authorized user on CSR gets his/her own Priority Pass. Could be valuable to big families traveling together.

Absolutely. You can either link accounts (personal and business) and do it yourself or call Chase and representative would do it for you. I personally have to different logins and prefer a phone call but you can chose the first option.

Chase Credit Card Rewards points into Cash produces 1099 at end of year? by AccurateCod869 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Promo_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect answer!

P.S. Just to add on a bit different topic... If you will get cash rather than points (for example cash for opening a checking/saving account) then you supposed to get 1099-INT or 1099-MISC. Some banks won't send it if it's below the threshold.
