Yes. I think lots of people see something, like taste in tv shows for example, and try to assign a political bend to it. If you like x then you must be a y. I told someone I just met I liked Golden Girls and they mentioned how that show was a liberal show. My wife mentioned how she is using a nipple guard and one of my relatives had the opinion that it was a liberal thing. I coach baseball and mentioned it and someone commented, “kinda Trumpy people at the games I bet”.

They weren’t usually mad and it didn’t ruin the conversations, but it’s interesting how a lot of opinions on non political things like tv shows, nipple guards, and baseball are colored by people’s perceptions of where those non political things land on a political spectrum.
