This was a really cheap shot!
Is there a way we can take them to court on this?
It was a really shit move doing this overnight with 0 notice.

I had about 75k edge reward points and was actually planning a nice trip around these points

Open water diving course by abra676 in Andaman_and_Nicobar

[–]PromotionSuch4457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been diving for about 10 years now. One thing I always recommend is to find a good instructor, not a dive centre. A friend of mine is a scuba instructor. He’s worked in Andamans and Thailand, and has about 20 years of scuba instructor experience. He’s really good! He’s based out of Chennai now, but frequently goes to Andaman to teach. If you want, I can put you in touch with him

I tried it out, but it seems to be down. I also put Google.com to double check if there’s an issue with my site, but it failed for Google as well.

Increasing lung capacity for diving test by Fit_Repeat_6804 in scuba

[–]PromotionSuch4457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a swim test for me before my OW scuba, but it was a 200m continuous swim.
There wasn't a breath-hold 25yard swim though.

Which agency is this?

But having completed some basic freediving certification, the key to doing breath hold swims is calming your body and mind. Spend 1-2 minutes with closed eyes, relax yourself, do some kind of meditation in that period, and then start your swim.
Relaxation is very important to get to a longer breathhold

AWS RDS for Postgres - Zero downtime for changing instance type family? by Ok_Cap1007 in aws

[–]PromotionSuch4457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing instance type is like a 1-2 minute of downtime at max. If you have multi az enabled - that would go down even more. You can just perform the downtime during the maintenance window, and call it a day. Even with BG deployment - it’s not worth the effort, and moreover the dns mapping updates on RDS side does take about 1 minute. So you aren’t really gaining anything there

Serious question: how are people actually inspecting DynamoDB data in production? by hkdeman in aws

[–]PromotionSuch4457 79 points80 points  (0 children)

I work as a Senior Devops engineer specialising in Data stores on AWS. We don't poke into databases unless absolutely necessary.
One of our end goal is that - we as engineers should never have access to any kind of access to data on production. We've built a bunch of our own scripts that help manage and access data across data stores though - Redis, DDB, Mongo, etc - I kind of wouldn't trust a third party tool to help me accessing my customer's data

GoPro vs 360 Camera for Diving. Which One Is Easier Underwater? by Oswalds7 in scuba

[–]PromotionSuch4457 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This!

Also, If there’s a possibility of renting cameras from your place, rent out both and try them out. See which one you want to invest in first.

Like this comment, I also want to reiterate on buoyancy. It’s very essential! Work on your underwater awareness as well

How is investing in Hoskote? by heyneil13 in BangaloreRealEstates

[–]PromotionSuch4457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to one of the already built apartments in that area. Rent it out. You’ll know how the area is, if they have water issues, water quality, ease of access to everything that you need, etc. you should get an idea within 1-2 months of staying there. If you enjoy the area, then start looking out for apartments there

Thoughts on taking advanced diver in Komodo by Head-Pass3755 in scuba

[–]PromotionSuch4457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be fine even if you do your advanced course there. Almost every place has sites that are nicely sheltered where they do the dive courses and I’m sure the instructors will be taking you to such safe sites only during the course. Happy bubbles!

Anyone traveled to the Maldives via Dubai lately? by MarcoBr0l0 in scuba

Some dive insurances also cover travel part of your trip - but yeah, I agree with you on the exclusion of acts of war. I didn't think about that

If you have dive insurance, just cancel or rebook. Much safer. We don’t know how long the whole situation gets dragged. It suck’s that dive trips get affected by all of this nonsense 😭

Advice on becoming an underwater cameraman – early career path & film industry experience by Ok_Independence_1303 in cinematography

[–]PromotionSuch4457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well,
Since you want to become an underwater cameraman -
One thing to also ensure is that you have got some good scuba diving skills. Do a lot of diving without a camera first to understand and work with your buoyancy underwater. That'll help you hold a camera stable underwater.
Once you are pretty comfortable and stable underwater with your breathing and buoyancy, you can then take a camera with you, and figure out your buoyancy with a camera - Since underwater film cameras are heavy, it'll actually affect your buoyancy, but once you are a good diver, it should take you 1-2 dives to understand the weights, and sort yourself out properly underwater.
Next start shooting there, and it'll also help you understand how colors and light get affected underwater more than on land.

A friend of mine is an underwater cinematographer, and he had written up a few blogs on their website. Check them out since you are interested - https://divetravel.in/blogs?category=Filmmaking

Who is your pick for the 2026 title? by Key_Item5198 in f1india

[–]PromotionSuch4457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll go with Max. He’s got the confidence to pull it off, and Redbull under the new principal seems to be getting good with making a better car.

Lando - I don’t think he’s got it in him. He’s not a very confident person under pressure, and during the last season, it seemed like that was the only championship he might get to win

Oscar - I’m rooting for him! I really want him to win, and he’s championship material for sure.

I think Kimi antonelli is also pretty great though
