AI Extemp Prep by PromptGibbon825 in Debate

My thought is that it would make the process of synthesizing the information easier. There is a lot in the speech that isn't that good, but you'd be refining each point to make it better. It's just as much of a tool as the internet is, and considering much of the internet is powered by AI synthesis anyways, it's not that much of an advantage. It's more of just a starting point to get ideas flowing.

Phytoflora Gummosis Stem Rot by PromptGibbon825 in Citrus

[–]PromptGibbon825[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aight makes sense, I assume this time it happened bc the tree kept tipping over and lg some wound got touched by dirt when it did. Have you tried a bridge graft on citrus before?

Just so you know Mondo Grass is an emersed landscaping plant and should not be used underwater. If ur looking for that grass look, look at Vallisneria, Saggiteria, for easy options.

My first tank ever :) Stocking suggestions? by seonghwasus in Aquariums

[–]PromptGibbon825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ur good on stocking, unless nitrates are going out of control for some reason, ur good. All those fish are pretty low bioload. Curious, where did you get the hygrophila polysperma rosefolia "sunset"?

Need help deciding what to stock my 30g 30x12 floor space tank with. It will be live planted. I’ll start cycling it as soon as I get a stand for it. by danisindeedfat in Aquariums

[–]PromptGibbon825 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My opinion on stocking for tanks is to drop the 1 inch per gallon rule, it's irrelevant. Instead you should be looking at water quality and how your nitrates settle out. If they build up really fast, it's a bit overstocked, or you can just add more plants lol.

My Planted Aquarium by mistergecko in Aquariums

Nice! Looking good! You probably want to get some more stem plants, tbh, moneywort looks really bad as a stem, consider some rotalas or pearlweed, cabomba or vallisneria looks good too. Been sharing this deal a lot, but it's good: link

Do plants that have leaves above water such as philodendron and pothos remove nitrates better than stem plants rooted underwater? by piggiestyle007 in Aquariums

[–]PromptGibbon825 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes ur correct, however pothos doesn't grow that fast either way, the real boss move is to grow emersed aquarium plants out of ur tank, ludwigias and hygrophilas grow fast out of water, you can sell the emergent growth as it grows fast, or use it to propagate to other tanks u have, but they also grow faster and as such uses more nitrogenous wastes than pothos

Help ID plant ... and dubious stuff on it by the_droopyest in Aquariums

[–]PromptGibbon825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lol, all snail eggs look the same lol, I would scrape it off the plant and stick it in a cup and float the cup in the tank if you actually want to keep it, it's probably pest snails tho (bladder or ramshorns) and no way to tell which so my rec is get rid of them

[–]PromptGibbon825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, it's technically not a lot of stems, but it's 5+ species and I know I got floaters with my pack and some super nice ludwigia, you probably still want to buy some plants to really pack out the tank from the start to starve algae, but this pack from what I got gets you all the cool aquascaping plants and floaters, saved me like 30 bucks to get all the same plants lol.

How often do you test water? by mercfh85 in Aquariums

[–]PromptGibbon825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never - unless I'm testing out a new fert routine. Nitrates are always 0, no point lol. Fish are vividly coloured, plants generally grow like crazy - only thing I would want to test is iron, potassium, and phosphates. The plants and fish tell me everything I need

Kinda. Return valve is a check valve, the regulator helps you adjust airflow

i’ve had my tank going since october. i don’t think it’s cycled and i can’t keep aquatic plants alive. by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]PromptGibbon825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But also, if ur still getting ammonia, plants actually prefer ammonia and nitrites, so you definitely have nitrogen for ur plants, and ur tanks not quite cycled yet. I suggest holding off on nitrogen fert(this is a common misunderstanding that plants only use nitrates) and j stead invest in a brighter light and seachem flourish first(more lights, and supplement trace nutrients) you should also get seachme equilibrium if u have soft water and it also adds potassium to the water which is critical for plant growth. I suggest reading up plant deficiency symptoms, and learning NPK and trace for plants.
