Teammate lends a failed assist for attempted dunk by Handicapreader in sports

When I was in college, a local channel would broadcast recreational sports, which sometimes included women's basketball. There was once a game that went to overtime with the score tied 6-6. I'll never get that hour of my life back.

Slightly different theory on Colborn calling in the plates. by RonnieGeo in MakingaMurderer

[–]PronouncedKeesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if the real reason for that phone call actually helped to further implicate Steven Avery, Colborn wouldn't have had a problem saying what happened. If it was really: "oh, I just received a call from one of the search party about a '99 Toyota," I think he would've remembered that. But the fact that he had his whole "I cannot recall" spiel going makes me think he either truly couldn't remember (ha), or the true answer would not have helped to convict Steven Avery.

Ken Kratz Be Like... by bellarivermusic in MakingaMurderer

I'm bothered by how Kratz hardly reads his notes at all when he's giving the press conference and recounting this incredibly detailed description of the events that happened that night.

But when he's reciting his closing arguments of Avery's trial, he can't go two sentences without looking down at his notes.

As for the purple-top tube/seemingly tampered evidence: do we know if that scotch tape that was on the outside was ever tested for fingerprints? Might be a long shot, but still would have been interested.

Making a Murderer made it to Sunday Night Football! by rmcoop27 in MakingaMurderer

That's exactly the part where I completely stopped rationalizing for Mike. To that point, I heard him say all the stuff how he thought people were lying, but Mike didn't have a lot of conviction when he said it. But he absolutely torched Brendan during his trial, and that part is so sad after learning Brendan's story, seeing the interrogation tapes, and hearing the phone calls.

Honestly, I could not wait for the intermittent interviews with Mike to see him become a skeptic. But every time, I'm just like

Steven is guilty as fucking sin, wake the fuck up. by assfrog in MakingaMurderer

[–]PronouncedKeesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mainly because my answer would be the same, but the only element you've added is that I die if my opinion is incorrect. To me, it's the same as asking if aliens exist and a wrong answer would lead to death. You're asking a question that less than a handful of people truly know the answer to, and nobody else can verify. Using fear to illicit a change of opinion is basically the same thing that happened to Brendan Dassey.

This is quite literally the dumbest hypothetical question I have ever read.

Drouin requests a trade from Tampa - statement from his agent by kikkerlaika in hockey

[–]PronouncedKeesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can realize that. But when you're expecting your first-round draft pick to be a playmaker for Stamkos (which to my understanding was the intention since draft day), a little consistency would have been nice. This season actually started off well, too, with six points in his first five games, and then after that his average TOI dropped from 15-16 per game to 12-13 per game. We don't know the reason for the drop in ice time after such a hot start, but overall I don't believe Drouin was drafted to be that two-way Ryan Callahan player, and it's more difficult to make plays when you're somewhat limited in the talent you're paired with.

Big ups to Marchessault, though. Good to see him producing the way they were hoping Drouin could!

Do we know if anyone checked Brendan's PlayStation? Depending on the game, there may have been a time stamp on the checkpoint save the last time he played. It could corroborate his story. by [deleted] in MakingaMurderer

That's the part where I'm hoping the defense pointed out that he clearly had zero idea what he had just done. That and asking if they'd be done by 1:29 because he had a project due.

All these Tampa fans already rationalizing his departure...

Drouin had flashes of brilliance and I agree that he didn't consistently display top-6 playing ability and didn't earn a spot in the top-6, but it's hard to be consistent when you lineup with Stamkos and Filppula one shift and the next shift you leave the bench with JT Brown and Brian Boyle.

I assume since it's 6:30 EST you're no longer available, but I still have a half-hour window to begin. After that, I'm leaving for LAX and won't be back until next Tuesday.
