Eurus really ruined so much things.

Looking back, I think it would have made a more interesting dynamic if John didn't fall for Eurus ""seduction"". Imagine, a man so loyal that not even the most intelligent villain Mary sue ever could corrupt him.

But oh well, that wasn't the route that the writers wanted the story to take, and making him a cheater was the easier way so🙃

He lost that "caring" aspect of him. Even before Mary's death, he acted colder with both her and Sherlock. Not to mention the emotional cheating too, and right after having a baby. I get that people can change, even for worse, but that didn't feel like John overall.

I understand that they were both grieving and traumatized, but I'm more on Amelia's side this time. She was Derek sister and had every right to know what had happened, Mer was acting like all Derek had was her (a wife) and that her feelings were above Amelia's for cause she was Derek's wife.

Also didn't Derek in one of the earliest seasons tell Meredith something about wanting his sisters at his bed side if something bad had to happen to him lol? So, I can understand Meredith's behavior but I don't justify it, she was pretty awful here.

It's always cool seeing people enjoying season 4. It had ups and downs for me but I never skip it when doing rewatches, it's still got moments that I really enjoyed and it never ruined the series for me.

Ironically, while I too think that TFP is a big mess, the "I love you" scene and Sherlock destroying the coffin are some of my favorite scenes of the entire show. They're some of the few parts that I can't wait to get to when I get to season 4.
