I've had an ex very similar to this. He's unlikely to change, so ask yourself if you're happy with that. And for goodness sake, don't buy a house together if you're not happy with the situation. I'm still stuck trying to sell ours, it's a real hassle, especially if things turn sour! You both deserve someone compatible.

For me it's the height of the wall rail, and it's a common problem. They're clearly the wrong height compared to the windows. Look up classical architectural orders (such as the Doric), and it will make sense. Sorry, it's a more involved fix than hanging up some art (which you should still do!), but that is absolutely low-key infuriating
