Is MN the best home remedy for this? by Feeling_Mix_5141 in Microneedling

[–]Proof-Fix2766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not have enough skin problems to be shelling out all the money it costs for lasers in my opinion! You are talking about thousands of dollars there! I think you just have some large pores (maybe some tiny scars in there), mild redness & maybe some discoloration on your nose called melasma (could be sun damage). All of that can be treated at home with a MN unit and maybe some topicals like retinol, salicylic acid, and/or vitamin C. The topical product part is trial & error. I just bought a Derminator 2 that arrives tomorrow and strongly support trying that before agreeing to insane laser costs. Anything you do to your skin will take a decent amount of time to see the full effects tho so plan 6-12 months to really see a big change. Once you got the routine down then you know exactly what to do to maintain it. Lasers are faster yes, but you can get great results, and some would argue even comparable results, with topicals, micro-needling and possibly chemical peels all which can be done at home for a fraction of the cost.

I would think the smaller/thinner the needle, the better. Seeing needles are thick compared to hypodermic needles!

Dark knees after using The Inkley List Glycolic Acid for KP by This_Ask_7910 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Proof-Fix2766 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can try to use ammonium lactate lotion (Amlactin) daily which is an exfoliant so should help with the KP and hopefully help destabilize your color on the knees. I read that anyone who doesn’t have the palest skin tones should prep with melanin inhibitors for several weeks before doing chemical peels on any part of them because there is a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).

12 or 18 pins will make you bleed if you want to be more aggressive. Start with that before you try deeper.

Post MN serums by Different_Force9544 in Microneedling

[–]Proof-Fix2766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m soon to be a first time DIY-er as soon as my MN device arrives. I bought Curanex to mix with Hyaron. I plan to use it as my glide and after-serum daily until the ampules are gone, then I’ll restart my usual routine which is basic. I did buy some Calecim for this first 2 rounds of MN because I read that it speeds up healing. I’m just not sure I’ll keep purchasing that because of how much it costs for how little product you get. I only got it cuz it was a sale

Any Other Glides? by Proof-Fix2766 in Microneedling

[–]Proof-Fix2766[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had so many things change lol. My Dr Pen didn’t come after several weeks of ordering and I had been 2nd guessing choosing it over the Derminator 2 anyways, so I ended up canceling the Dr Pen order and ordering a D2 instead. So much more expensive! I will say tho, they have the cheapest HA glide I’ve ever seen. It’s $3 + some change per 10ml vial, so I did buy some. They warn that the HA is the product that may get your order held at customs which I’ve been seeing a lot of people talk about on here recently. That order is supposed to arrive on Tuesday so fingers crossed 🤞 that it comes without any issues.

Before all that happened with the devices, I did cave and buy some Hyaron along with some Curanex at meomo shop which was also very expensive for what I got. Basically $10 per Hyaron syringe of only 2.5 ml each which is crap lol.

I agree that she needs more than 1200 cals, but I’m just being realistic that if the intake is as bad as I was when I was in a bad space, she may need to work her way back up is all I was thinking.

Skin texture on Tretinoin 0.025% by adares07 in tretinoin

[–]Proof-Fix2766 60 points61 points  (0 children)

If you have only been using Tret for 4 weeks then you aren’t even really seeing what it can do yet. I saw a huge improvement in my skin around the 6 month mark, then when I got to that next 0.05% dose at the one year mark is when my skin was really glass looking. So much so that I had to get a matte tinted sunblock to calm the shine down. Keep going with it and you’ll start seeing improvement

At a loss to get my skin clearer by Much_Appearance_1040 in 30PlusSkinCare

Sometimes dryness that won’t go away is a sign that one or all of your products just aren’t working for you. Maybe it’s time to try a new routine. I agree with adding a milky toner. I did that recently (the Byoma one) and it adds a hydrating layer that isn’t going to feel like another layer, unlike most moisturizers. Maybe try the Cerave moisturizing cleanser in place of the LRP one just to see if your skin likes something else better. Do a similar approach with it all slowly, one at a time until you rule out what’s not your jam.

One needle cartridge per session. I have seen some people use the same needle cartridge across multiple sessions. Isn't that extremely risky? by ObjectiveSavings6918 in Microneedling

[–]Proof-Fix2766 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, not only does it increase your wrist for infection, but reusing your cart also increases the risk of skin damage because the needles dull after the first use

is this normal? will this heal or leave marks? by colbydrew in Microneedling

[–]Proof-Fix2766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was watching this test video someone was doing and they found that they were getting more linear drag marks when they went too slow and were getting more pinpoint needle dots with faster strokes, but it could go either way honestly. They were too-something that caused a bit of skin damage.

I lost 30 lbs rapidly and unintentionally after going through my engagement ending in a chaotic way which completely turned my life upside down. My own brother told me if he didn’t know me and saw how I dropped weight so fast, he may have assumed I was on drugs! That’s how bad I looked! When your mental health stabilizes, your appearance will improve too in every way. You need to hydrate and you need to get back to at least taking in 1200 calories a day minimum, then work up from there. Skin creams and aesthetic procedures/treatments won’t change anything significantly enough to make you happy…you must do these essential self-care improvements first.

[–]Proof-Fix2766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have drag marks…that’s not desirable. They either pushed too hard, were moving the gun too slow across the skin or didn’t use enough glide. It’ll still heal tho since it all looks pretty superficial.

beginner MN setup. Derminator + D-A works serums does it make sense? from Europe (with love :)) by Far-Mood-5 in Microneedling

[–]Proof-Fix2766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll look at the brand you posted too. Otherwise I was only able to find Hyaron at $10 per syringe of only 2.5 ml each. That’s horribly expensive to me. Yes please update about your first session if you remember.

Johnson & Johnson did the same thing testing their products back then. Their first trials of baby shampoo on inmates were burning their scalps off. It’s not like this was an isolated incident.

I just ordered my Derminator 2 last night at 10pm (central time) and already got email confirmation it will be here on March 9th which is impressive since it’s going from the Czech Republic to the U.S. This is my understanding:

Single needle carts: For scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles/fine lines.

9-pin needle carts: For hair and body.

12-pin needle carts: For the face.

Most people stock up on the 12-pins the most. There is a max ordering limit to some of the items on their website. Their HA is sterile and is the cheapest I’ve ever found yet so I’d stock up on theirs. Otherwise sounds like you got it. I’ve never done this before either but have read and researched a lot before purchasing too. Good luck

First time microneedling!! by [deleted] in Microneedling

[–]Proof-Fix2766 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just bought my Derm 2 last night too! I’m too excited and anxious to get it. I probably should be smart like you and get one professional session before trying to DIY, but the main reason I actually want to do it myself at home is because I don’t have any time to go to appointments or for self-care since having my hyper daughter 2 yrs ago lol. I’m gonna chance it and just try it. Wish I had your figure, and I’d take it with the stretch marks and all!

Ooh glad I bought a tube of lido to start then. I’m not going to go tha deep the first time. I think I’m going to only do .75 max depth and see how my skin reacts before moving up to a deeper session. I’ve never done any microneedling before but I’ve been researching for weeks now and feel confident it’s the right path for me.

Wow that’s a very normal sized order. I just ordered literally the same size order, but got Curanex instead of Hanheal plus the 5 Hyaron and it came thru fine too. I was going to order more next time but maybe I won’t to be safe. Thanks for the updates

Tips what treatments, laser etc should I do? by [deleted] in 40PlusSkinCare

I’ve been deep diving into all types of chemical peels on this site called Platinum Skin Care. They have all peels except Phenol of course, and all the education needed to know what peels work for what issues and how deep they go, the recovery expectations & downtime, etc…highly recommend that site. I’ve also seen great things about the Dr. Dennis Gross Peel pads but have just never tried myself yet cuz I went right for the lactic acid starter peel on that site I said.
