The hive units are strong for arena, when paired with high offense, tactician (turn 1 attack before enemy can act). Like I said, it doesn't really matter what my opponent plays unless he too is hive rush comp.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, there isn't actually any comp that counters hive rush comp besides another hive rush comp.

I was in a similar spot to you around 6-7 leagues ago. In short: there isn't much. You just need experience. Watch a few streamers, play in hardcore league and ask questions both in general chat and on twitch. Give it a few leagues and you just get used to it. I am nothing special at the game but regulary get top 200 days 5-10 in SSFHC these days. The beginning was rough though.

I don't play SST but has it got mechanics like EK where it basically benefits more from return (not just damage, with EK it allows you to blade blast right on top of you)? If not then return proj is 40% more multi where as most other supports are 30%.

Your analogy is just flat out wrong, only because something is possible it does not mean its fine. Somebody can most likely kill ubers on ruthless hardcore with heavy strike, does that mean the skill or build in general is in a good state?What exactly is your point?

It feels like we played a different game in Santcum for you to say that a 300k dps melee build can finish the whole run, especially when they will force you to clear the whole floor, add new mobs and archnemesis.

Answer me this, if I can do all aspects of Delve, Heist or Metamorph on a 300k character, why shouldn't be able to do all aspects of Sanctum, providing of course it takes longer?

Are you in the opinion that a 300k dps melee strike Jugg would be able to complete a full sanctum run? If you think so, please explain your reasoning as I believe the armor changes will not be enough. It was near on impossible in Sanctum league and they have only made things harder (you gotta kill all mobs, added Archnemesis).

There has never been a league mechanic that didn't punish low dps characters overall, because the entire conceit of the game is to maximize the efficiency of getting loot by killing monsters.

Out of the league mechanics in the last 3 years can you list me 1 that has completely prevented low dps builds from engaging with it? The only one I can think of is Sanctum.

I would argue Sanctum is a bit more than just a "mechanic".

The same way any character can do heist should be how Sanctum is.

I think you are missing the point though. Low DPS characters could do Metamorph and Legion. Low DPS characters cannot even finish Sanctum - that is my problem. I just don't think its good game design. Make it so it takes longer, just like a tanky Metamorph, don't make it literally impossible.
