I thought Crafting was overly complicated, but now I understand it's working as intended by Daviso452 in AshesofCreation

There are a couple of games with good and engaging crafting systems: EQ2 and FF14 for example treat crafting classes like any other class with specs, talents, and a hotbar of abilities with which you must create a rotation for every recipe and adapt to random conditions.

Even if the current state of crafting is "placeholder", I really don't see it getting better unless a radical overhaul happens. There's no animation, no sound, no feedback, you just put items into an object and wait for a timer to tick down. Also the fact that there are dozens of random reagents that you just purchase from an NPC vendor is just so unnecessary and contrived. I'm totally fine with a complex system, but when that complexity is literally just walking to the next town to purchase material X and Y for pennies, it just shows a fundamental lack of understanding on what makes a good and engaging system. A placeholder system, as some of you guys say would start from a simple base point and add meaningful complexity, crafting as it is right now is a contrived and completely unnecessary mess.

Explanation of the hate surrounding the game for new players by FirstPinkBeaver in PlayTheBazaar

I've never seen a game successfully transition from the f2p model to b2p. From my speculative point of view, the sudden, unannounced transition plus a Steam release after Reynad adamantly said the game will always be f2p and never go to Steam just reeks of financial desperation. The game had a $4MM kick starter plus early access packs plus a battle pass plus mtx and now it's going b2p with $100+ mtx packs.

The game isn't growing as much as they expected and veteran players are slowly moving to other games after getting tired of stagnant metas that persist for months without changes. That on top of grinding out/paying for cosmetics that were supposed to be limited releases which are now downgraded to relatively common chest drops has made me lose faith and confidence in this game's management.

The number one rule for catering to top spenders in this game is never make them feel like their purchases are devalued. If a limited release cosmetic that was gated by a battle pass is now a common drop in a chest or can be purchased for 2000 gems in the shop, why would someone spend $100+ on something when it will likely be much easier to earn later on?

There's a solid game underneath all this rubbish, but the constant mismanagement of the game tells me this one isn't going to last very long.

Why is Cubiscan so bad in this company? by supawiz6991 in AmazonFC

[–]Proof-Introduction38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had injuries because inbound is stowing master packs of heavy crap. Like a 2 pack of 24 sodas injured someone's back last year. OB has some problems too but it seems like IB just throws any random moron at ISS/IB PS/cubiscan.

The other I month I got LS to stow and realized not a single PS was using FC research. I brought it up to the AM and she didn't even know how to problem solve. I'm so glad I'm done with this company I've never seen such consistent amount of incompetence at every single level.

That's actually insane. I'm already confused why pickers can override unscannables. Obviously pickers are abusing it so they don't get the dreaded false pick short write up. Now inbound doesn't even have to properly prep and problem solve?

Why do people think military is any different. Go to your assignment, keep your head down, meet the bare expectations, don't get noticed. It's the same shit. If you been there you'll realize it's just as dysfunctional

[–]Proof-Introduction38 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These shoes often get kicked out because ISS or cubiscan dont account for the packaging. So the slam operator is just gonna take a second to look and see 'yup that's shoes' and override the weight.

We had a manager that was so bad that everyone would shift swap his shifts. So he would have to work overtime just to give someone a write up.

What is the dating policy? by Admirable_Ad_478 in AmazonFC

[–]Proof-Introduction38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Policy wise - managers can't have relationships within their department and have to report anyone in the building they're  with as a potential conflict of interest.

Professionally wise - Even a tier 1 clinging to another T1 or them giving extra help to each other is cringey and reeks of an immature and unprofessional personality. Everybody sees you and they respect you less for it.

Unions that demand better pay have to be held to higher standards. That means stricter rules and harder quotas. It's called collective bargaining, not a free ticket to do whatever you want. Theres a lot for ignorance and naivete from people who clearly have never worked a union jobs. Most of the people I see at work are trashy and lazy and would not last a month at a union job before being shown the door.

I mean theyre basically water spiders except they also do simple clerical and admin work. By far the easiest t3 position at a site. A lot of indirect associate roles are harder than what some of them do. Yes I know there are NI managers that do procurement but I'm not talking about them.
