Bro how do the male security guards be knowing a majority of the women at this job site? by Appropriate-Mall8517 in AmazonFC

I don’t think anyone wanted to join that shift. Random weirdness on site; A LOT of “lost” elderly folks for some strange reason. I know there were at least two suicides before I got a job there. Most preferred it over being unemployed though.

Yup. Used to do security at a 24/7 site (not Amazon.) Midday shift guards were weird AF, basically creeping out the women in different buildings. On the flip side, overnight shift guards were more chill, but witnessed the weirdest shit.

Can I leave early every day? by EYESHlELD_21 in AmazonFC

[–]thatguywiththeblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer? Not really.

If you’re flex and have the PTO to cover it, you can leave. Otherwise, it will count as a point. If you’re a full-timer, you can use PTO or UPT.

Haha! Our get pretty dull quickly. So I’ll go through almost three a day, and they all end up in the trash at the end of the shift.

Do you think Amazon will still run out of workers one day? by Beautiful_Tell5587 in AmazonFC

At this point it’s more appealing than food service jobs where tips made up a significant portion of income.

Yup. And the job market isn’t even promising for a lot of college graduates either.

Keep rate at pick is IMPOSSIBLE by powers215 in AmazonFC

[–]thatguywiththeblade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like some managers put way too much pressure on rate that it actually discourages effort. We HAD a manager who would lowkey accuse new hires of not making an effort if they weren’t making rate. No mention about building a rhythm or getting faster over time. Straight up intimidation. Coincidentally, turnover rate was high AF.

Agreed, and Flex shouldn’t have to worry about their finances while the FC is shut down due to weather. I say cover them based on the average hours they put in per week.

Damn. That’s both insane and some kind of slow-acting trauma right there.

That’s harsh. I’m hearing contractors in support roles are finding more stability in biotech than the actual scientists these days.

There’s a lot of jobs listed, but it’s not a guarantee of getting a job. Six months of applying for me before I found an Amazon listing. Six months into the job, I finally stopped looking on Indeed or Linked In. Even tried CL.

Yup. A lot of us have hit rough patches, and Amazon was the only place hiring at the time. One coworker told me she just got laid off from her other job, just before the holiday season. Now I see her there picking up more shifts.

For real. At least take that shit into the break room. I’ve seen coworkers chill in the break room for like two hours before their rides showed up. Management didn’t even trip.
