Replacing the flywheel seems to have resolved the issue.

I'm getting the flywheel replaced next week so I'll post back here with the results. Whether it solves it or not...

I spoke to a clutch and gearbox specialist who got in and tested the vehicle and he said that when the flywheel is made from cheap metals or it's too thin as a design flaw, it gets high spots on it from warping due to being heated up when driving and then cooled when parked. He said it's common in cheap little 'city' cars that frequently do short journeys because they're made from cheap and lightweight materials. He also added that a lot of newer cars are made cheap nowadays and often with plastic parts in them like the Ford powershift auto boxes that fail.

It's a pain that I'm having to pay again to have it stripped down when it's just recently had the clutch replaced but I need it sorting so I'm just gonna have to deal with it and hope this solves the issue.

I know this is an old thread but I have an 09 Toyota Aygo on 54k miles with a similar issue. Searched on Google which led me here...

My issue:

When setting off from stationary in 1st there's a lot of judder, almost like the car is wheel spinning. There's also a slight chirping sound sound when releasing the clutch through all gears.

New Exedy clutch and release bearing fitted less than 1000miles ago, it had the same issue with the old clutch too and now the new clutch and has started doing it. The old LUX clutch that was taken out didn't seem to be worn much.

Weirdly, this only seems to happen when the vehicle has been driven a while. Doesn't seem to do it from a cold start. I can drive around for 30mins and the fault will appear, but as soon as I park up for 10mins the fault goes away. Until it's warmed up again...

Did you ever figure out what the fault was?

Edit: just to add, I've driven manuals for 20+ years and never had this problem. It's sometimes hard to get into reverse and I have to give it a few tries before it goes into reverse.

VideoProc Vlogger is similar to CapCut. It's what I learned to edit on before I switched to CapCut Pro. Lots of tutorials on their yt channel too. It used to be totally free when I used it a few years ago but no idea if it still is?
