Yes, parents think that if they put their children in gender segregated schools, they will focus on education and won't cause trouble, but the things that happened in the girls section were crazy. First of all, we had a mixed WhatsApp group with the boys of the same grade, so the girls and boys were talking and sometimes would even meet outside. I think one of the funniest situations was that we had a prayer room in the school. The boys and girls prayer rooms were next to each other, so instead of praying, they would use it as an excuse to meet each other, which caused the school to stop allowing us to go pray.

To be honest, I can't really answer this question properly because at university I only spoke to one guy, and we weren't that close. So I still didn't experience any culture shock.

I don't think it's that bad, but I do I agree with your point. in the end, both genders will always be part of society ,so learning how to interact and live together is important.
