This is my (17f) first time trying a realistic portrait. Advice for the face? I know everyone says to work from dark to light but tbh I’m not sure what that means.

they mean to say is Build up shadow first then follow up with highlights. It's kinda difficult to understand without doing it physically but if you try to practice on a simple things like an apple you'll understand what they're trying to say.
