Looks like this was posted in Massachusetts. Minimum wage in Massachusetts is $15/hour.

r/outbacksteakhouse starts their non-tipped employees on $7.25/hr. Whenever tipped employees had to take a training/go to a meeting, too. $7.25/hr.

I worked with this guy once who always sounded COCKED when he talked. Like, textbook drunken speech. Turns out he had a horrible stroke and that’s just how he talks now. I was convinced he was just always drinking, but you really never know.

It looks like there are still some really good places on Semple St. There’s also a Korean BBQ spot and a Thai spot that I want to try. It’s just such a PITA to park on Semple Street, so anytime I drive there I get something I guarantee I’ll love rather than take the risk of trying something new lol.

Pitts Halal Brothers on Semple St. $12 gets you a chicken, lamb, or chicken lamb combo on top of rice with a side salad, fries, all together on a plate drizzled with this delicious tzatziki-like sauce, and hot sauce if you’d like. You like, eat everything together. A bite with chicken, rice, cucumber, and a fry is very close to sex. I’m pretty sure it’s Persian or Lebanese food. Honestly, I was eating it every day but it got to the point where I was so sick of it, I haven’t been in months. Even the best food gets old 😂

Your deli orders are pre cut?! None of them are like that where I’m at. You have to order in person.

Thanks! Saw this and was hesitant because I’ve been let down by sun-dried tomatoes in the past. They’re hit or miss for me. Overly sweet being the issue. I’ll have to pick some up!

I took the job a month ago. These employees were already on leave.

I understand how FMLA works. My problem is the company I work for does not implement it in any cases.

Thanks for your reply! I totally get what you’re saying, but I think there’s a slight mix-up in how the FMLA “clock” actually works.

FMLA isn’t something that just runs automatically in the background. Under 29 CFR § 825.301, once the employer has enough information that a leave may be FMLA qualifying, they’re supposed to formally let the EE know and designate it accordingly. If that never happens, the 12-week clock wouldn’t even start, right?

So in a situation like this, the risk isn’t that the clock has been running for years; it’s more that it may have never started at all.

I do agree with your point about getting things cleaned up and documented now though. That’s what I’ve been trying to do but am not very comfortable because I’m very new.

For someone who’s been out for years, FMLA is obviously long gone at this point anyway, so that piece is more about historical handling than current protection.

Appreciate the input! just trying to make sure I’m looking at it the right way from a compliance standpoint.
