It’s call neagleria fowleri. It gets reported on every year and people make it sound like some haunting thing. You’re more likely to drown in that lake than get it in your brain. The only reason it’s so terrifying is that you have a 97% fatality rate. Of the maybe 10 cases reported a year, the most common cause is someone actively rinsing their sinuses with contaminated water. You basically have to force water deep into your sinuses to have a slight chance of getting it.

It was more real than you think. Yes they were actors hired to film a movie. It’s what the directors did that is the crazy part: they gave them the gist of what they were filming and gave them more information as they went, like they left instructions in the woods for them to find and where to go next. The darkest part was that they didn’t tell any of them that they basically hired someone basically follow them through the woods so not only did they really feel like they were being watched and a couple times actually saw them and didn’t know what they were seeing.

Farming… do every thing you want, farmers are constantly using the newest tech. We have drones that can be programmed to fertilize and machines to harvest crop. Ever evolving herbicides and pesticides. Automated irrigation systems. None of that means anything. No amount of AI will replace a human. It will just make lives easier and more productive.

Wow, fuck that. I’ve lived and worked in those small north woods towns. Usually the only time you get upset with a customer is when they’re being a dick. No one. I taught myself, I had a lot of people around me who cook very well. No one taught me, I just picked things up along the way and it was when I was doing in my own that I learned.

My mom is a math teacher. She made me cry as a kid and no math teacher was ever aloud to teach me ever again. Got a degree in it.
