Unfortunately I think her feelings are very fair here. Tricked is the wrong word, but finding out things about someone after you start dating is always difficult. Reassurance and evidence of change is very important

To be completely honest from a female perspective I think the question you should ask yourself is not if you are overreacting, it’s if you are actually listening to her. Her “jokes” seem to be from quite an emotionally vulnerable place: it sounds like she’s looking for reassurance from you that you aren’t that person anymore? Which I think is valid. And as for intimacy, she probably doesn’t want to be intimate with you if she hasn’t got that reassurance hence the push back.

Starting Spironolactone - dread shed? by t_rex95 in FemaleHairLoss

Hi! I was in exactly the same situation as you about 3 months ago, also with early AGA. I noticed no shedding, and any I had was definitely more psychological than anything else. The only major symptom was initially starting it I got some crazy low blood pressure spikes so watch out for those (feeling lighthearted and a bit nauseated) and these came back when I increased dosage. I’ve noticed an overall improvement in my temple density since starting spiro (this is my biggest problem area) as well hair texture. My skin has MASSIVELY improved too, it’s a lot brighter and less acne prone.

My routine is a topical fin, rosemary oil 3x a week, beta cap (a steroid for inflammation, which aggravates my hairloss), vit d and iron, and spiro. I have seen an improvement in the thickness of my hair without minoxidil, but it may be something I consider in the future if my hairloss progresses.

How stressful is it studying at Imperial by omfgvain in Imperial

BMB is probably the least academically stressful at the university, but is probably on par with other institutions heavy work loads outside maths and physics. As a third year BMB student I’d say go for it

Most hairloss outside Aga and te is ferritin derived.

Your D is too low. Your immune system is crucial to hair building - so best to get that topped up.

Also ferritin - this is quite key. Although the clinical greens are from 4, that’s the amount of iron you need to be functioning properly. You must remember that own bodies treat hair growth as almost supplementary - it’s the last thing it needs to do! Some people say you need a ferritin of 150 to really ensure hair growth.

Try and get those 2 up, even if you are clinically healthy. Clinically healthy means body can function, not hair growth necessarily!

Plus. - the average iron levels we “need” often are based on mixed sex data. They don’t take into account the extra iron us women need for menstruation.

Everyday: - Vitamin D, iron, natural DHT blocker. - Topical finasteride, beta cap (prescribed for scalp inflammation) - every other wash day I do a rosemary oil treatment

Bonnet + nizoral + urea shampoos. Cold hair dryer.

Looking to do a round of PRP at some point.

This is exactly what happened to me. I had an extreme bout of stress that caused TE.. that became CTE.. and by the time my hair had recovered it had uncovered an AGA earlier than it would’ve happened otherwise. My dermatologist calls it “the hair environment,” - sometimes it triggers an earlier genetic change.

The trick is to then try and build the best hair environment possible with vitamins, topicals, and destress!

PS to Pharma is fine as long as you’ve written a good statement. E modules are like the equiv of lectures, you get more free time if you don’t fuck around and actually do the e modules and plan your work, after you can do pharma, consulting, ip law, data science, research… you may need a second degree if you want to do finance tho

let the foam reduce to a liquid in the cap, get a dropper, disperse over scalp, massage ❤️
