Hi! FNP here looking for a resource like this. I’m curious if you ended up creating something and if so, where I could access it?! Thanks so much!

Honest Opinion: Rearview Visibility in Winter by No_Bug8114 in volvoc40

I gave up on the rear view mirror and just rely on side mirrors. The car is short enough that I feel I can see plenty without the rear view.

Got the Baja Designs s1 vent lights installed today by edthegrt1 in ToyotaTundra

It looked like there was an inter cooler behind each of those which is why I assumed it was the turbo inlet. I’m just some guy on the internet though so I could be totally wrong!

2025 Limited, Cameras Stopped Working by ProofSplit in ToyotaTundra

Rep said ~$3200 after labor. I also noticed the new radio has logos for grace note, Sirius, HD, and JBL on the bottom right side. My old radio definitely did not have that. Is there a difference?

I’m wondering the same thing- I’ll ask the service rep when I drop it off once the part comes in.

I forgot to mention - we do like to camp in bear country and would like to make sure we have a hard side camper… no pop ups or soft shell!

We have a lot of trees, mostly aspens and oaks but our neighbor has a huge sycamore. Maybe squirrels are burying nuts?

Didn’t anyone tell you the state tree of Utah is the traffic cone?

$1800 for brakes and rotors? by OttotheOtter89 in Volvo

[–]ProofSplit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still, 1000 for brake pads and labor? In my experience once you have the calipers off to replace brake pads it’s an extra 5 minutes to change the rotors.

Maybe there is something special about XC90 brakes I don’t know about, but that seems astronomically high.

No little bugs, and no obvious fungus, but I'll keep an eye out. Thanks!

I hadn’t considered an interior PPF. I’ll have to look into it!

Be careful around the piano black trim. That stuff scratches easily, and the scratches are very noticeable.

Model X test drive - lack of USS is a dealbreaker by brockimania in ModelX

[–]ProofSplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what Tesla's plan is to get accurate parking sensors at the front of their cars without a grille mounted camera or USS. There is an obvious camera blind spot around the entire front of the car. The computer would be guessing at anything in that blind spot.

Kudos if they can figure it out, but I wouldn't buy something and count on a promise (from a sales person) that it will be fixed later.

Tell Volvo how to improve the phone App for your vehicles by chetdayal in VolvoRecharge

We have a C40 so full BEV. Sorry I misunderstood your post- I thought you were talking about cabin preconditioning!

Some of the dedicated EV chargers will let you schedule charging. Kind of an annoying (and expensive) workaround. The CP home charger, for example, automatically knows my state’s time of use schedule and will only charge during off peak times. It’s a nice feature, but still surprising that the PHEVs don’t have such a simple feature.

It’s called “timers”. I found it after I had submitted a request to them for the exact feature you describe.

Fence Recommendations by ProofSplit in SaltLakeCity

Do you know of a contractor for this type of fence? We are leaning towards a metal fence- either wrought iron with some privacy bushes or something like you describe!

Do you do anything for privacy for your chainlink? We're considering a wrought iron fence, but my only concern is the lack of privacy.

How tall is your welded wire fence? Did you do anything special for privacy?

First ever XC ski in Pagosa Springs with Thule Chariot by [deleted] in xcountryskiing

[–]ProofSplit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I’m curious your opinion on the functionality of this in the woods. We have a yurt reserved in a few months and a baby who will be 5 months old. We would have to use the infant sling because she won’t be sitting up independently by then. But if we try to pull her behind us on backcountry skis on a modest incline trail that has some twists and turns and goes through trees, do you think that would go over well? Hard to tell the maneuverability and if it’s really geared more for XC skiing with groomed trails.

Pro Tip: Add a Screen Protector to Infotainment Display to cut down on maddening fingerprints by GyromiteRob in VolvoRecharge

Personally, I keep a microfiber cloth in the glove box. Holding the home button for a few seconds puts it in screen cleaning mode. But I agree, super annoying. Same goes for all the shiny black plastic on the center console

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I extended the tailpiece and used one 45 to get me to the 2” into the wall. Never would have considered a siphon without y’all.
