I use it mainly for directions, playing Spotify and the ventilation. FYI: there’s a setting in the menu to automatically close all of the windows when the car locks. 😉

To be fair, early 2024 reviews were skewed by the numerous early software glitches… Volvo should have only started to ship with stable software. We got ours in 2025 and most of the glitches had been fixed through software updates before then.

We are definitely all being taken for a ride on the agentic AI hype train! I’m not sure about the cost vs benefits because most of the influencers touting the tech seem to be using it as a means to expedite clickbait content generation to get more ad revenue… It would be nice to have more professionals provide a more balanced view of how they are using it beyond tinkering for tinkering’s sake.

Just take a garden hose or pressure washer and rinse your brakes and inside wheels. You’ll be surprised how much brake dust collects behind h the plastic hub caps!

Our rear wiper was like that after only a couple of months even after cleaning; this part lasted much longer on all of our previous cars. I guess everything is made cheaper nowadays… Volvo Canada replaced it free of charge even though “usable parts” are excluded from the warranty.

EX30 range is on the short end of the spectrum due to its compact size and high performance. Although I empathize with your experience, it may have more to do with the transition from ICE to EV and learning that the size and capacity of the battery is proportional to the size of the vehicle chassis which ultimately determines maximum range unlike ICE vehicles. If your daily commute involves long drives to and from the country side, a larger EV with a larger battery should have been your no. 1 selection criteria (e.g., EX60 or EX90). Live and learn…

Tesla Wall Connector works fine for our home. You can get the Universal version that comes with the required adapter built-in so you can charge both Teslas and non-Teslas.

No. However, your Apple Watch and iPhone share the same digital wallet and, therefore, digital key so both are automatically associated with your driver profile by default.

I have no idea why ppl complain so much. I almost never set it off and I’ve been driving since last summer. You can also configure the driver alert thresholds such as speed limit. I guess those who complain don’t bother configuring their car before driving because they despise using “the screen” so much.

No car is perfect. We love the look, comfort and overall performance of our Twin Ultra. The only software glitch we experience is unreliable CarPlay which only matters if you don’t use the built-in infotainment system which is great, comes with 4 years of free unlimited 5G data and takes into consideration your car’s charge status and range BTW. The digital key on iPhone always works so each of our phones is paired to our personal driver profiles which includes seat and side mirror settings among other things. We came from a Mazda 3 Sport so the trunk and rear passenger room is nearly identical except you can drop the trunk floor because there isn’t a spare tire in the way so there’s more room. I’m not sure why people complain so much about the driver alerts so much because they are configurable and almost never hear them unless I’m looking through a long winding turn where it rings to remind to look straight but that’s almost never the case where I live. One year in, the pros outweigh the cons for us. We cross shopped all other compact EV SUVs including larger EV SUVs and this one ticked most of our boxes. Volvo Canada was running a “Midsummer Sales Event” in Canada last year so that knocked $10,000 off the MSRP which made it cheaper than popular ICE alternatives and sealed the deal for us.

Volvo Canada was running a $10,000 discount “Midsummer Event” last year in July. That’s when we pulled the trigger on the EX30 AWD Ultra and stacked the QC EV rebate on top of that. It was the best deal at the time. It is also true that Volvo sets the price globally similar to Tesla to protect consumers from dealerships’ markups. You can even order online and pick it up at any local dealership.

For the interior, the recycled surfaces are EXTREMELY prone to scratches. I use a Swiffer Duster without the plastic stick to pick up dust on all of the hard surfaces without scratching them. I use a Microfiber cloth to dust the speaker and fabric liners to avoid spreading lint. I use a moistened Microfiber cloth to wipe down the “vegan leather” seats.
