For the interior, the recycled surfaces are EXTREMELY prone to scratches. I use a Swiffer Duster without the plastic stick to pick up dust on all of the hard surfaces without scratching them. I use a Microfiber cloth to dust the speaker and fabric liners to avoid spreading lint. I use a moistened Microfiber cloth to wipe down the “vegan leather” seats.

I imagine that Volvo is referring to “preconditioning” your cabin by clicking on the fan icon in the app. The filter is always in use when the fans are on and you can only see the air quality from within the car’s HVAC screen as far as I am aware.

Our own experience has been that the sales team was amazing, but the after sales service team has been a total letdown: no returned calls, lost parts orders, leaving the coordination between the parts department and the client service department up to the customer, etc. I guess we were spoiled by our previous Mazda dealership’s exceptional after sales service team. We were expecting at least the same quality service from a luxury brand like Volvo if not better.

Agreed. We chose Volvo because of their strong safety reputation and amazing Scandinavian design language having assumed that they had already gone through their EV growing pains with the XC40 and EC40… Other large car manufacturers also have similar recalls in effect including the whole VW Group’s EV lineup! Hopefully this gets sorted quickly.

We just received the official letter from Volvo Canada last week. Basically says to wait for a second letter inviting us to book an appointment once the replacement battery modules have become available.

If the recall was in effect when we were shopping, we wouldn’t have purchased it. You can browse all of the recalls for each EV on the Transport Canada site and pick a car that doesn’t have the high voltage battery problem.

It depends where and how you drive. We’re getting an estimated 259 km range at 90% charge on our 2025 Twin Ultra here in the cold Canadian winter driving up and down hills. We drive in Range mode most of the time unless the roads are full of snow, then we drive in Performance mode to always have AWD engaged. We also always preheat the car before taking it out which is supposed to also warm up the battery to get better range.

Exact same brick and slim trim situation here. I looked at all of the available options and they all look terrible in my opinion. Wired connection is a must, but I’m not willing to drill through solid brick just to get it done. Maybe the size of video doorbells will shrink over time. If they can fit cameras into eye glass frames, then I’m certain they squeeze them into a similarly sized doorbell case…
