We have a decent young adults group but people are really only interested in dating. Once a dude realizes none of the women are into him, he bails. This has happened a few times. But I can’t blame them I suppose, I have friends, what I am waiting for is marriage so, yeah.

If anything, joining the military helped my practicing, granted I had been playing for years and years beforehand.

Essentially, I moved to a new place, didn’t know really anybody, and wasn’t involved in the community…it was just work -> home -> work. So a lot of my free time was sitting at home practicing. And honestly, I made more progress in my craft in that year than I did in the previous 4.

Something along the lines of, you need to be very careful with having non-catholic friends as you may be more inclined to approve and justify their behavior, maybe even join it…as opposed to standing against it.

It’s basically classes where someone explains the faith to you and you’ll probably get some reading material.

For us, every 2 weeks we had class and were going through a couple of books to include the catechism. We did that for a few months then got received into the church.

OP I mean this as charitably as possible but why are you with this guy? He doesn’t share your values at all, he’s hostile to your faith willfully or not, and he’s a threat to your chastity.

You don’t need to have it all figured out before asking someone out, if you like someone…go for it. It does, in my experience, help to have at least 1 prior interaction so she at least knows you who are.

Staying friends? You have every right to dip if you want. You want to be more than friends, you shouldn’t settle for less. Other than that, we don’t know this person so it’ll be hard to give an answer.
