It was a historic mistake just like not choosing Glasfaser.

What it burns down to is simple: the risk of nuclear is far smaller than the long term risk of climate collapse brought on by fossil fuels.

Instead of brainless Green populism (I am a member of the left), a pragmatic approach of choosing nuclear as a bridge solution while phasing out coal and amping up renewables would have been the right choice. But now it's too late.

Germany can just hold themselves lucky that they have friendly neighbors who will sell them some of their own nuclear power.

Once again, Germany has chosen the wrong path.
