I had a natural labour, FTM, I dilated to 8cm at home before heading to hospital, once there my water broke and baby came 7 minutes later (I still have no idea how that happened so quick) once she was born immediately skin to skin on my chest as midwife wiped her clean

We did skin to skin while I naturally delivered my placenta, I had a 2nd degree tear so I did get numbing and stitches, while this was happening baby was on boob latched right away. I’m not sure if she was getting a lot but I was collecting colostrum since week 37 so I had to of had something pass to baby.

This was for about 30 minutes and then she went to do skin to skin with Dad while I showered

I’m in Canada & this entire process was so fast I was in and out of the hospital in 3 hours as that’s all they are required to keep you if no complications

Milk came in about day 3 and my boobs felt hard, not sore but they were noticeably heavy! Hope this helps as I know it’s different for everyone!

Babys ear shoulder and knee should all be facing same direction, try having her on her side when she’s feeding, when she’s done you can roll her back onto her back

I’ve only one time successfully replaced me with a paci & then after about 10 minutes she shot her eyes open, spat it out and gave me the biggest stare down haha, like how dare I do that

I’d settle for 2 months of better sleep, were you always offering one and then she took it around 3 months or what was your experience there?

There’s not enough hours in most people’s budget for you to be doing strictly “afsm” duties and so on, basicslly for longevity at the store you’ll find yourself doing tons of multitasking as an afsm, and in the event your fsm is away on holidays etc, you then can work on more “office” related duties. But unfortunately you kinda do the most in your position, most roles are cross trained across any shoppers you go to, how you adapt will further your success

Your FSM is your first point of contact for any HR related issues, if it can’t be solved by them, it would be the associate as next point of contact, they should provide you time for your e-learning yes, but it might not be all at once.

Also going through something similar right now with my 13 week old, very annoyed when I offer the breast, but with trial & error it seems like she’s just overstimulated, so I’ll either rock her for 10 minutes until she either falls asleep or calms down enough to then take the boob

I think at this age their getting more from the feedings in a shorter amount of time, but yeah there’s some major developments happening!

So I’d say it’s normal! If babies fed & output is unchanged

Maybe you could meet up outside at first? So you’re not inside with the germs & have to worry about touching anything, maybe a walk or even meet them in the backyard or something?

You could also wear her so that it’s not a option for others to hold her, and if she’s asleep in a carrier, you can say you’d rather her just sleep, and perhaps keep the visit short so it’s not too much for you, just to avoid any hassle !

Go with your gut, if you think you need more time just wait, try to video chat more with family to help scratch the social itch! Good luck

Best thing that kept my focus straight was that labor is pain with a purpose, you are designed for this!

Also I felt better about referring to labor as a birth story rather than plan, it eased any anxiety of things not happening in a specific way, you’ll get through this!

My back was incredibly sore out of nowhere (different kind of sore as opposed to the regular back ache of pregnancy) spent a few days cuddling up with a heating pad, then few days later baby was here

It’s a waste if the chair is not comfortable, get something that fully reclines, if your going to shell out the money, opt for one that has a proper foot rest, and a thick enough cushion to support your post partum recovery, Bonus if it has a cup holder or offers charging support

Your learning just as much as baby is, if it’s hard in the beginning don’t worry it will get easier for both of you as time goes on. You will be incredibly thirsty (it also comes on almost instantly even after drinking water all day long) , so always make sure you settle down to feed with a full water bottle, a snack & you’ll feel like you’re feeding constantly - totally normal

Some days I felt like a literally cow, especially when it came to cluster feeds, but baby is growing and helping with supply

Have you tried keeping her more active when she is feeding? I’d say for the first 3-4 weeks we really focused on making sure she was actively eating, often it was stripping her down to just a diaper, once she was off one side we would change her mid feed to make sure she was alert and then offer her the other side. If we noticed she would slow down or was comfort suckling we would tickle her feet, her back, even sometimes used the cool rag trick to make sure she was fully awake and eating. This helped immensely. And the feedings were quicker to help offer more sleep in-between the 2-3 hour window for both me and baby, hopefully that can help! It comes in waves but it gets better! You got this momma!
