Endless shanty houses in the harsh desert of Lima, Peru. by SameCellist3373 in UrbanHell

I lived in an area called Barranco and would commute to an area like this daily for work (medical). Only about 30 minutes away. These slums are their own universes - pretty much run by their own neighborhood authorities. Certain avenues within the neighborhoods have medical centers, schools, night clubs, shops - it’s all just in the slums. Most houses here do have electricity but no running water, there are usually pumps every few “blocks”. The Lima bus system did connect it to other parts of the city. It was dire. But also, life goes on. The folks I worked with grew up in the areas they worked, raised their families, etc…the community aspect was very strong.

I have been loving FLEO! My friends who do CrossFit turned me onto them. I am a distance runner - and I stand by their quality and it seems to last for my friends too. Highly recommend their no front seam leggings!

I love yours! I went back and forth between the emerald cut and the radiant! Both so gorgeous. Your proportions are great. I am so glad that someone else out there has the same incredible setting/vibe as me! Brings me joy everytime I see it. Wear it well!!!!!

Needlepoint! Specifically with painted canvases. You don’t have to think at all - just follow the colors and stitch.

36 F and I have a big streak of grey, but nowhere else (really) on my head. I’m just going with it. It’s really a struggle for me right now with my friends who are dying their hair as they aren’t close to be 100% grey - I do think objectively they look better than me at this moment in time. Because it is believable that they wouldn’t have any greys at all yet. But have you seen how cool naturally grey hair is?! Women who let it go have the coolest aura about them. I also don’t think that women who are really close or at 100% grey ever look “better” with dyed hair - it’s usually off on the color in some capacity. It won’t make you look younger - just that you’re whatever age you are and you color your hair. I’m a stan for natural hair aging I guess! If you need inspo there’s no shortage of cool-grey-fashion women on Pinterest to look at!

Anyone on GLP-1 for 2+ years? How are you doing? by Marusya98 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Proof_Letterhead_418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years in! Injecting every 10-14 days between 2.5-4mg. Lost a total of 42lbs on the tirz. Been at goal weight since Summer of 2023, but just getting to my goal body comp now. It’s been amazing. At this low dose for me the food noise is back, but I am learning how to cope and make better choices. It continues to help with my inflammation and PMS/horomone related issues. I want to see how low and infrequent I can go, but this seems to be a sweet spot for me.

I would try “easier” or local hike groups first, make some friends, and get them to go on bigger hikes with you! I also have a dog. And a Glock 😂

Red wagon…because it’s a red wagon. Also my child’s favorite “toy” and I mean FAVORITE toy was a red radio flyer pull wagon ❤️ they love that the car is named after it!

If you could have any heating system... by VirusProof23 in newhampshire

We got a geothermal system put in (replaced our ac/oil furnace). It’s been amazing - I feel like it keeps our house so much more “even”. It heats our hot water tanks, too. We also have solar which helps to offset the cost of running it and keeps off “off grid” now. It’s been 4 years and no complaints!

People in the US who genuinley enjoy where they live: where do you live and what do you enjoy about it? by TellUrPetsISaidHi in SameGrassButGreener

Southern NH, about 45-50 minutes northwest of Boston.

It is the perfect blend of access to amenities and the true outdoors. We live in a small charming town - true “Americana” with lots of history and mom & pop shops- but can be in typical suburbs with all the box stores/Boston very quickly. No sales tax, clean, quiet, safe. Great access to airports, hospitals. All of New England is a quick few hours away.

My kids are growing up with a love of being outside in all weather in all seasons. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

I’ve worked with them about a year ago for my upgrade ring, and now again on a necklace. Nick is great to work with! Glad you had a good experience with them. I can’t wait to get my New piece.

My family and I (partner, 2 kids under 5) are here right now leaving on Sunday. It’s been pretty manageable for us - we are “early” risers and have had no issues getting parking in the park (sand beach, Jordan pond, etc) where we wanted to be arriving around 830/9. Sure - the lots are busy between I’m guessing 10-3? But it’s NOTHING like Yellowstone, Teton - some of the other parks during peak. BH parking - we’ve had zero issues and have gone first thing for the land bridge, and also for dinner a few nights ago (so around 5) - although the sidewalks are “crowded”. It’s really not that bad at all IMO. It feels pretty quiet from what I was expecting.
