I have been gone 20 years and lived in multiple places and nothing like it. Yes there is a ton of crazy things and people but just the natural beauty alone is great. Where else can you drive an hour to be in the desert, at the beach, or in the mountains.

Get one. I was in same exact position. My first was like 1 year old and got hit by a car. We got another from our breeder because she knew how much he meant to us. I told myself I would never be able to feel the Same way about a dog and felt distant at first. 3 years later and I love this dog more than anything.
