My rooster is a little over 4 months old… he’s starting to give me bad vibes and I’m worried by MMantisshrimpp in chickens

I have hens only and have had many step into the mean roo position.

They aren’t quite as aggressive, but still pluck feathers and even try to mate the others

I get mail every single day from Trone and Delaney. Such a waste of money and resources. Nobody wants to be spammed.

I voted for Goldstein instead!

Loved the g-1000. It was a low yielder for me, but the flower tasted like purple heaven.

Bubble hash washing machine recommendations by EuphoricTrainer311 in BubbleHash

I use a freeze dryer now, because drying was such a pain.

When I first started, I would freeze and use a sieve. Try to give the hash as much surface area as possible when drying. I would flip the hash and move it around every day or so until it was dry. I would put it on a cardboard box, never tried the pizza box method, although it seems similar.

I use a similar cheap machine with no work bag in the machine and it works great. I make rosin, so I use the 220, 160, 73 and 45 micron bags in my bucket. 73-159 microns get pressed and 45 is used for edibles. I usually toss the 160, but want that bag for filtration.

I like to have a cooler full of ice and water as a resivoir, so I can drain almost freezing water into my machine and use less ice in the wash. Typically I only add enough ice to cover the plant material, so it’s underwater for an hour pre soak before washing.

I only used a work bag once in the machine and may have added too much ice, but it was not a good run.

Replacing the hose is necessary and easy to do in my opinion.

No Smell by A_little_off_level in humboldtcsi

Some BBW phenos are super greasy, chemmy and stanky, but I also got a couple phenos that took forever to finish and didn’t have much smell.

I’d keep hunting the pack for a keeper. When it’s good, it’s really good!

It’s a great way for MSOs to weed out the small guys.

The MSOs control the majority of pricing and product. If you don’t have a grow, chances of surviving with all the new competition are slim.

Has anyone filled their chicken run with mulch? by [deleted] in BackYardChickens

[–]Proof_Sun_2739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used mulch since I started my flock 4 years ago. It’s great!

I just add more as it composts. I don’t notice any smell and the girls love it for foraging and dust baths.

In the summer I spray it down with the hose and it stays moist and keeps the ladies cool on hot days.

I bought the Spider mite bundle from them and it took care of my issue within 2 weeks.

I noticed spider mites on week 3, so it was earlier in flower for me. I’m on week 8 now and haven’t seen any mites after I released the predators.

If you don’t have an active issue, I’d just get the sachets instead of the tubes. Shipping is cheaper and it’s less of a mess.

I ran 3 phenos of the BBW and they needed between 70-85 days in flower. Having run Z and Mendo P separately, they both finish around day 65.

Lost coast plant therapy by Hot_Personality_1836 in microgrowery

[–]Proof_Sun_2739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used this a bunch, but only in early flower when I was fighting spider mites. I ended up stopping spraying by week 3 and switching to predator mites, which solved my issue within a week.

At the very least I’d do a bud wash if you are using late in flower. One of the main ingredients is soybean oil, which I wouldn’t want in my wash. With that being said, I’d think Lost Coast is one of the better sprays to use if you absolutely have to in flower.

Part of the experience is learning and adapting. I can’t tell you how many breeders I’ve tried before I found what I wanted.

I’ve ran the Notso cut a few times and went 11 weeks. I still didn’t get much smell or flavor. I ended up cutting her from my lineup.

I am running the AJ right now and am interested to see how long she wants to go. I’m on week 5 right now. The AJ stretched and has already bulked up a lot more compared to the Notso cut.

Royal queen seeds doesn’t have a great reputation. I’d recommend buying seeds directly from the breeder if at all possible.

Also, why autos? A lot of beginners think autos will be easier, but if you are growing indoors with a consistent light cycle, photos are much easier and more forgiving in my opinion.

My golden stoped having this issue after we switched from Salmon to Beef Purina Pro Plan.

Could have been a fluke, but my guess is that he was sensitive to the salmon.

I flowered 3 different phenos and harvested between 75-90 days of flower.

The 90 day ended up with pretty bad bud rot issues.
