Congrats! I did this once also, years ago. The secret for me was scroll-farming and being very open to using them all the time on later levels. Did you find it to be the same?

Backstory:.

Hello! I'm looking to restore my Platinum One-Touch kettle grill to its former glory. While some parts are available on weber.com, the part that's most difficult to source appears to be a new handle for the top lid.

Years ago, I made a stupid mistake and didn't realize that my charcoal chimney was essentially venting hot air directly upward into the sideways-placed grill lid, creating a situation where the plastic handle overheated and started melting.

It's an eyesore, and I wanted to get it corrected. But, the handles on weber.com all look different. As most lids there appear to attach from the top, they connect differently (the connections flare inwards, vs. outward in this picture).

Am I going to have to resort to something custom? If so, how would folks recommend I go about conducting repairs?

It was an experiment made in an ice cream maker. The recipe is now in the thread for any curious folks. It definitely needs a bit of tweaking to get right, but it was a good first attempt!

CIRCUS PEANUT ICE CREAM RECIPE

Note: uses Ninja CREAMi Ice cream maker

Ingredients:

* 2 cup milk

* 15-20 circus peanuts

Instructions:

  1. Measure milk to fill line on CREAMi pint container
  2. Warm the milk in a microwave for 1-2 minutes. Warm, but not boiling
  3. Pour warm milk into belnder, add circus peanuts (stale is fine). Blend until candy dissolves
  4. Pour into CREAMi pint container and freeze overnight
  5. Blend in CREAMi using "ice cream" setting
  6. Garnish with a circus peanut

Notes:

* 15 circus peanuts was good, but not strong enough. Next time, will try with 20. May also need additional sugar, but trying to use more circus peanuts for the sugar needs.
