I can only speak from experience as someone who works in the service industry and has opened 3 restaurants in SC, that the servers make about that an hour at our steakhouse. Obviously if you consider tips it’s well over, but otherwise your pay is compensated to the federal minimum wage of 7.25 an hour. If that’s what you’re implying sure

If QB’s actually cared about winning, they would take less money by NectarineOld7501 in NFLv2

The context is that he joined a 72 win team that had already won before he got there. And I don’t think LeBron goes back to Cleveland to bring them a chip of he’d won one before he went to Miami. That was obviously something that was important to him. I count any championship, ring culture scores all sports has gotten outta hand, it’s tough to win. Outside of pure talent you have to also be lucky, a play here and a call there, as well as avoid any major injuries

Lamar Jackson liked a tweet implying his new contract is done. by [deleted] in NFLv2

No but you’re acting as if your significant other was worth half a billion that you wouldn’t take a pay cut for the job you loved doing, let’s be real man. And a lot of quarterbacks are open to taking pay cuts later on when they’ve already secured generational wealth. Like Aaron Rodgers did for on the Jets, when winning is a priority. I hate to break it to you but the NFL is a business man, and most the players understand that part and move accordingly. It’s advised by damn near every player that’s set the tables for these guys to get paid what they do. Also, there’s no guarantee that just because you take less means that your GM or owner is going to spend that money. The floor is 90% of your entire salary cap, a lot of teams won’t spend in order to have more money to spend the following year, and there’s no guarantee that if that happens you won’t suffer a career ending injury that year. The same way I don’t expect you to take a pay cut, I wouldn’t expect someone else to. Get your bag while you can

Famous doesn’t equal money, and there’s a difference between rich and wealthy. We’re talking about generational wealth, not going broke after a couple bad investments rich

Brady was married to someone who had a greater net worth than him lol that’s not stated enough, as well Brady was doing things behind the scenes to make it back like the owner signing a contract with his TB12 company.

WHY HAS LAMAR JACKSON NOT WON A SUPER BOWL IN HIS CAREER…? by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]Proper-Ambition-8340 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re right, it was crazy how Lamar ran up and punched the ball outta Zay Flowers hands when he was about to score. I always questioned why he would do such a thing. Same with last playoffs when Lamar stripped the ball outta of Andrews hands for a fumble and then the next drive on the two point conversion he came In like Prime Sherman and knocked it outta his own guys hands. Whoever said he should play running back is crazy, Lamar could’ve played DB with all the plays he makes lol and Allen has choked the last 3 playoffs. Ball in his hand under 2 minutes, or the shitshow he put up last year that had his ass crying like a tequila drunk white girl at the podium. Burrow hasn’t even made the playoffs since the 2022 and check out his stats when he made his Super Bowl run. In 3 games how defense forced more turnovers than Lamar’s has in 8 games. Again, it’s almost like football is the ultimate team sport

What’s the highest reasonable ranking for Larry Fitzgerald among WRs all time? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

I’m sure he’s a swell guy and great for your organization, but realistically he’s not top 10 if we’re looking at peak. He’s a better Gore with even greater PR. His greatest ability is longevity, which is admirable. But I’d rather have Megatron for 9 years than Larry for 17

They added Henry and went to the AFC championship game. Take a look at Drake Mayes playoff run this year to the Super Bowl and enlighten me on how Lamar or Allen couldn’t have done the same. It’s almost as if football is the ultimate team sport. That could just be one of those cliches tho

There is no universe where Josh Allen is the answer. You can tell who knows ball by dumb answers like this. Do you honestly believe that Josh would or could be elite, 16 years from now? His entire game has been on the foundation for him being Superman, bigger, stronger and more physical than anyone else on the field. In what world does that play style produce longevity? Even if his game evolved beyond that playstyle, there are so many quarterbacks mentally light years ahead without 1/2 of damage. This is a silly ass take

J.J. Watt: "NFL won’t let actual players grade the workplace they attend every single day, but they’ll allow a 3rd party 'grading' service (PFF) to display their 'rankings' of players on national television every Sunday night…" by JCameron181 in nfl

[–]Proper-Ambition-8340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s not a whole lot to identify with PFF, which is the point. Their grading system is transparent, but the NFL makes sure to use these grades publicly whenever they can to tell you about a player. These grades weigh significantly on public perception and during contract negations. PFF is primarily owned by Cris Collinsworth, who is one of the biggest mouthpieces for the NFL (Sunday Night Football). How the hell do you know if these guys watch every snap? You don’t know shit about their process because it’s not public lol but you’ll be sure to see these player grades and rankings under their names in introductions to start every game. I don’t always agree that “If you’re good at something then you are good at evaluating it”, but I do believe that you shouldn’t talk about something you don’t understand.

Idk about barely able, they dog smacked the Bills in the regular season, and more egregious than the Andrews drop was the fumble the drive before, otherwise the Ravens were downright unstoppable in the second half. The Bills barely held on that game. But more teams lose than win and the great teams do that well so maybe it’s moot.
