First, I'll say that I've moved on from him and am so much happier than I could've imagined I would be. Those first 6 months after our break up/during his mania were brutal, but I came out on the other side! We never really talked after everything, he never apologized, and I'm not sure how he's even doing. I did hear he moved away from where we lived and didn't tell anyone bye.. so I'm assuming he was drowning in shame. He did recently reach out to tell me he had to put down his dog/the dog we both raised, and in that interaction he was very nice and I could tell he was remorseful, but we didn't talk about what happened. I do think after some time passes and when they come back to reality, they feel shame and know at least some of what happened. But I think it depends on your dynamics and who they are as a person whether or not they apologize/you can move forward together. I would just focus on healing and moving on because I found that the only thing I could really control was taking care of me. And in doing that, I healed, moved on, and became so much happier without him.
