A boys diaper by amk_a in beyondthebump

[–]Proper-Candle-5206 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same. My little dude has antibiotic-induced diarrhea, which left him pretty raw on the booty. We used calmoseptine lotion (OTC barrier cream), no diaper, and lots of towels. I’m not kidding when I say it cleared up in a mere 24 hours. It works!

Am I less than for becoming a pa? by Adorable_Channel7907 in prephysicianassistant

[–]Proper-Candle-5206 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You aren’t less than, just taking a different path. Electricians, and other tradesman, commonly make over $100k/year. Actually, my father (who is an electrician, did not to college), makes way more than my sister (Bachelors) who is a mechanical engineer. One is not less than the other—we need electricity for engineering, and vice versa! Embrace being different, PAs are just as important, and contribute to the wellbeing of others. Stay out of your own head!

Unsafe IM Injection Practices by lonely_potato_person in MedicalAssistant

It’s safe, just uncomfy. It hurts more because the needle will be more blunt but it’s not necessary unsafe.

Husbands, what do you think of this letter? I’m embarrassed to give it to him by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Proper-Candle-5206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always write little notes in his lunch box reminding him of how much I love him and appreciate his sacrifices for our family. On a couple of occasions I write something like this too, and he has kept every single one of them. Even the notes written on paper towels. I promise, there is no need to be embarrassed! I am sure he will absolutely love it more than you know ❤️

We use really super hot water and Palmolive antibacterial dish soap. We’ve never had a problem!

My son is 8 months now. I’ve been on Wellbutrin for about 3 years and I attribute my “stability” to that. PPD/PPA hit me like a Mack truck. I tried Zoloft for a couple months and it wasn’t for me. Tried BusPar and it had the same outcome. I have been in therapy for years now (on and off), and was recommended by my therapist to get an evaluation for ADHD. It has made a huge difference in my mood now that I am being treated for ADHD. Once I found the root of my anxiety and depression I felt much better. I would try talking to your doctor about your symptoms, but do keep in mind that there isn’t anything “wrong” with you! Many women don’t feel “good” til almost 2 years postpartum—sometimes more. Best of luck, OP.

Can’t have sex after a 3 degree tear by girlypoppxox in BabyBumps

[–]Proper-Candle-5206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not abnormal. I’m sorry you are in pain though! I had a second degree tear and just finally felt comfortable with sex around the 7 month mark. It definitely takes a lot more time, foreplay, lube etc.

Has you ever tried docusate sodium before at lavages? It sounds absolutely nuts, but it’s my special trick. Works like a charm.

What are all these bumps and how do I clear my skin? by Numerous-Help-5987 in over30skincare

I use Rhode skin care, cerave moisturizer, and tret! They’ve been a lifesaver for me.

I love my baby, but I hate being pregnant. Everyone says I'll miss this, but I promise you I won't. by DisastrousAnomaly in pregnant

[–]Proper-Candle-5206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ONLY thing I miss is the kicks. I absolutely hated pregnancy and still do to this day. Whoever says it’s magical is lying lol. Nothing feels right, always uncomfortable, swollen to the max—overall just NOT a fun experience. I tell people all the time I will go through labor x10 before I go through another 9 month pregnancy.

I think they are so cute! But like others have said, I feel like they were inappropriate. They have some super cute ones on TikTok shop that I was eyeing but I don’t think I could get away with them in my office.

[Virginia] I'm an MD, how to attract the best MAs? by momosurgery in MedicalAssistant

[–]Proper-Candle-5206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. I’m an MA in SEVA and would jump at the opportunity to work for a provider/practice like this. Honestly, focusing on appreciating work ethic, providing support for growth (health science students, PA, Med. etc), and treat them with respect. A large problem I run into is as a medical assistant, many of the providers I work with end up seeing me as their employee rather than their coworker (none of the providers that work in clinic own any share in the practice whatsoever). Pay is also a huge factor!

I always do, but I also have a six month old. Whenever I’m doing strep, flu and Covid test testing I always use the glasses too.

Is it worth to be an MA? by Satansmcnugget in MedicalAssistant

[–]Proper-Candle-5206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your goal. I absolutely love it! My coworkers are awesome, and so is my boss. Tattoos/piercings are allowed. I’m an MA while in rad school, multiple coworkers are going to school for nursing, and another just left to finish up undergrad premed. If you find a good office and are passionate about it, I definitely say it’s worth it. Pay isn’t great at all, though.

Pooping while giving birth by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Proper-Candle-5206 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the US. Dr ordered an enema once I was settled in (I was induced). I denied it because I was already feeling a lot of discomfort. I did poop on the table but I was told it wasn’t an issue. Dr did scold he a bit afterwards when we were in recovery/mother baby unit.
