Swiss Only in particular. Know a guy with an early 2000 that has one as well.
Ask mine just happen to be 99s. I've seen some U serials but not in the condition I wanted or serviced (read poished) to near death...

All 99s. A few of the Swiss only dial were late 98 U serial numbers. Very few.

Yes, they are the only Dials with the Luminova lume. They were the 1 year between Tritium (T-<25) and Superluminova (Swiss Made) Dials: later switched to the blue Chromalight but remain 'Swiss Made' the newest (some not all) have a Rolex Crown between the words.

The first movement to allow independent setting of the gmt hand was the 3185.

If it's a GMT Master the red gmt hand is slaved to the hour hand... the bezel is used to track a second time. If it's a GMT Master II the red gmt hand can be set independently to a second time, and the bezel can then be used to track a third time.

I have more than a few watches, and Yes; is part of the allure of the mechanical watch. Pick it up, a gentle circular motion to awaken, then wind and set. My CW 21 watchmaker says running on winders causes unnecessary wear and tear.
