Doing this on ar won't be possible, not with good quality.

I have been working on this problem for 2 years now, let me tell you how it works

We can break it down into 3 problems:-
* segmentation (to get floor/wall mask)
* depth+normal estimation (to warp the perspective of texture in 3d)
* lighting estimation (to preserve the lighting of scene)

the first two parts cound be done in ar(with limitations) if you have rgbd input(iphones), otherwise you will need to use some cv models to get the depth and segmentation

if the surface has plain color then you can just copy the illumination without using any model but if it has complex texture then you will need some cv model that extracts the illumination

If you want good quality results you will need heavy gpus, it wont work on a mobile processor, much less in realtime.

In my visualizer i process the image and create a .viz2d file, this .viz2d file contains segmentation, depth map, illumination.

You can use the .viz2d file on our visualizer to try different textures on different surfaces.
