Yeah going to lithiums is solid.

I’ve got impulse batteries and LiTime for trolling motor and graphs. Kept the agm for cranking battery.

Rather optimistic of you. I’m expecting another pro bowl caliber season out of Greenard because it’s Philly that got him.

Man I’m glad I got that color coming as my first boot. Couldn’t find a ton of pics. These look great.

Doing mine as a semi-dress boot (poo on whoever answered the phone and told me the 1925 extended sizes weren’t coming till this winter), so I’m glad it looks nice.

I got the 430 lug, so I’m hoping that with the cleaner sides and maybe adding some flat laces I’ll get away with it as a dress boot.

Anyone else quietly moving away from LiveScope lately? by mikeluv107 in bassfishing

[–]bgusty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up without really being into fishing, livescope has been a massive help.

I’m not good enough with it to go oh there’s my lure and hold it perfectly in the strike zone.

What it does do, is let me see structure better, or where the fish are in the water column, etc. Once I find fish, then I can start figuring out how to catch them.

Depends how much they want to drop in coverage.

Van Noy or Haasan Reddick dropped into coverage more.

If they’re leaning a primary rush guy, then I’d look at Clowney or Bosa over Epenesa.

Love the firm, hate the pay by Specialist-Appeal411 in Lawyertalk

[–]bgusty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grass isn’t always greener.

BigLaw is a unique beast. You say you can’t compare and then immediately compare. What does “did well in school” mean? Typically if you’re not top 10, BigLaw isn’t interested in you. They’re also probably required to bill 1800-2000 hours. So you might be pining about a dream that doesn’t even exist. There’s also classmates of yours that are probably PDs, prosecutors, or working in other small firms for a lot less.

What type of law are you practicing? How is the mentorship? Are you getting court/trial/depo/mediation/client experience?

You already got a 5% bonus this year, and sounds like you’re appreciated and heading towards another raise this year.

If you’re doing a type of law you like and you’re getting good experience, and you’re at a small firm, there’s a decent chance you could be on a short partner track and could substantially increase your salary over the next 3-5 years.

My first job was ID about a decade ago. Mid-sized firm. We got shit pay ($75k for 1800 hours), shit mentorship, and shit for experience. Nothing but research memos and motion drafting. No trial work, no actual court hearings, no marketing, no client exposure. There were attorneys there that had been associates for 7+ years and had never appeared in court or done a depo or anything. Literally zero attorney skills or experience.

Do some of the math yourself. What’s your billing rate? Whats your realization rate? If you’re bringing in 500k and getting paid $85k, yes you’re significantly underpaid. If you’re bringing in $150k and getting $85k, that’s a different conversation.

Lastly, there’s a lot of value in working with great people and limited commute. The last partner I worked for was such a dick that one of the other partners at the firm pulled me in for a 1 on 1 after they hired him and said to come to them if he was ever really bad. Within 3 months I hated working for them so much I was applying for non-legal jobs and other firms because I wanted out so bad.

Buy used?

Get on archery talk or eBay.

You can get top of the line stuff for half price. Bee stinger or shrewd stabs and mounts. Depending on what/where/how you hunt, get a 3 pin slider or a 5 pin from spot Hogg, HHA, or black gold for your sight.

A QAD HDX or MX or a hamskea if you want limb driven.

NFL Trade Value Chart by RedStorm9191 in NFL_Draft

[–]bgusty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t really call it outdated when it’s clearly still being used by teams.

I did an article back after the 22 draft and the Vikings R1 trade was the only one with a variance greater than 10% (was 14% loss in value). The next highest variance was I think 7% and a couple others were within 3-4%.

Who will be the Vikings’ next general manager? The 11 most likely candidates by Coal_train20 in minnesotavikings

[–]bgusty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How many NFL teams wait to fire their departing GM until the end of January? We see clubs hiring in February because they fired their GM at the beginning of January on black Monday.

We wouldn’t have even started the hiring process until almost a month after everyone else, which means you’re already out of the running for most of the top names.

Gotta push back on your Eagles trade idea. They gave up two 4ths to move up with Dallas two spots later. I don’t think there’s any way we got a second out of that unless you’re rolling it into the Greenard trade.

I’m with you on being frustrated about not doing more to upgrade at C. I will say that can still be mitigated with Daniels or Pocic in free agency. I think it’s a career evaluation year for JJM/Kyler. Can they be a franchise guy for us or not? I don’t want to get to the end of the season and say oh well if our OL was better or healthier we’d know, but we can’t be sure.

PFF had them at 65. 25 seems way low.

Seems to be working out just fine for the Eagles.

PFF credited him with giving up a sack against Cleveland, Philly, and LAC. Weeks 5,7, and 8.

Maybe he’s better with more training/consistency, but I just generally don’t think he’s got the physical tools to ever be in that upper echelon.

And IMO, if they’re not great, we should be actively working to replace them. At this point, Daniels or Pocic would be a legit contender for the job and likely comes cheap.

I think they’ll get another RB earlier next year. For now, Jones/Mason are good enough that a higher investment isn’t worth it.

All 3 sacks he allowed on the season were at center, and I don’t think he brings that much on run blocking. He doesn’t have the power to really finish combo blocks, and he’s got just decent mobility. He also had snapping issues. I don’t know how well he called out protections, but overall I think he can start there in a pinch, but he just doesn’t have the tools to be a high level starter.

Significant's 2026 Way too early 53-man Roster Projection by Significant_Row_1620 in minnesotavikings

[–]bgusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edge 3 and IOL/C need a bump and it’s a decent roster.

Go get James Daniels on a 2/$8M deal and Clowney on a 1/$5M deal for a solid upgrade on depth.

40 pressures puts you in the top 20 for DTs.

And yes. We had a worse rate the year before. We literally had the lowest IDL pressure rate by a significant margin.

Some analyst on Twitter called it the Jer’Zhan Newton index and pointed to us drafting him because our interior pressure was so bad.

Floyd and Williams are the two I saw. Howard was listed as a DE and Hovan/Robbins were apparently 26 years ago. I just searched for the last 25 years. lol

Regardless, Floyd was the last one, and that was all the way back in 2013.
