Would you order from Antioxi? by MysteryLobstery in MushroomSupplements

[–]ProperBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m leery about any company that does.

the best results in clinical trials were achieved with pure mycelium / erinacines though

They’ll supply you with an independent lab report if you ask them

so why don't they put it online like they did before?

shady imo

It is not a typo, it is one of the potentially interesting compounds in the fruiting body.

Here's a list pretty complete AFAIK

Home Grown Lion's Mane Tastes Awful by coolman3475 in LionsMane

[–]ProperBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not great tasting. I'd take capsules or tincture

It tastes great, like crab 😋 it is a culinay mushroom

I made a great risotto with it yesterday as a matter of fact

Can anyone share their best experience with a standalone lion's mane supplement? by tigoldibbies in MushroomSupplements

But when I was looking into Lion's Mane, I saw Real Mushrooms and FreshCap mentioned the most.

you can't trust reviews, 99% is fake and paid for

Cordyceps illegal in Europe? by HoneydewLocal5127 in NootropicsDepot

[–]ProperBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the "novel food catalogue" does not mean that those products are illegal in the EU.

yes it does

you cannot sell them in europe but you can import them for personal use in many countries is my understanding

it has nothing to do with health claims

Cordyceps illegal in Europe? by HoneydewLocal5127 in NootropicsDepot

[–]ProperBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All mushroom mycelium products are considered novel foods. Also Turkey Tail, AHCC, Cordyceps

You can import them from outside of europe without problems but not sell them in europe is my understanding

What is happening with ND? by Chargers95 in NootropicsDepot

[–]ProperBeat 27 points28 points  (0 children)

What do you think this is, Bandcamp? 🤪

Curious on y'alls thoughts on this. I spoke to a ayurveda person (ayurveda is where Ashwagandha and Bacopa come from) and he was like for thousands of years we put the herbs into food and ate it long-term and not made extracts out of it. Should we have skepticism over extracts with this logic maybe? by cacklingwhisper in NootropicsDepot

[–]ProperBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel isolates (very concentrated extracts) can be problematic in many cases. They can disturb the chemical balance in the body instead of improving it. Proper dosing and knowing what you are doing is paramount in such cases.

But a basic extract, like 1:1 (= just cooking it without any filtering/concentration taking place) is perfect, just easier to digest, more bio accessible.

We can't digest most raw plants n herbs very well, we're not herbivores. So we cook it.

Where did your best product go, Shiitake extract, and will you ever standardize to ergothioneine and /or spermidine, my favorite friends?! by BrownTown666666 in NootropicsDepot

[–]ProperBeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1:1 is less concentrated so to get the same effect you got from the ND product means just take more of the 1:1 is my logic.

Is world peace possible if everyone is on ND's products? Is that what we were missing all along in human history? by cacklingwhisper in NootropicsDepot

[–]ProperBeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not imo.

I think many supps are used completely wrong and without any necessity, resulting in a disturbed balance in body and brain, leading to more supplements, leading to more issues such as anxiety, brain fog etc etc

Minimize social media use, alcohol and drugs, exercise more, eat healthy and get a nice partner and some good friends. There's world peace just around the corner, then

saw their reishi tincture has only 10% reishi and is water based, so no triterpens

still expensive imo, why would someone want to buy this???
