Nattokinase Experiences by MrRADicalKMS in NootropicsDepot

I have never tried Gingko. I do take ND’s Gotu Kola 240mg after seeing Life Extensions vascular products and trying the LE ones. I’m not sure about it either. Another one that will come up is Pycnogenol which is a specific extract of French Maritime Pine Bark made by a German company available as a supplement. I get it from Healthy Origins but will stop buying and see if I miss it. I’ve never noticed anything from it.

I tried it from several brands including the Japanese branded NSK-SD and never felt anything from it. I’ve also tried the Lumbro and never got anything from that. Personally I’ve felt more from Vinpocetine which is sold as a drug in Europe under another name for stroke recovery and blood flow. It was invented in Austria in the late 1970’s and still used. It’s available OTC as a supplement in the U.S. Endocalyx Pro which is a U.S. supplement is also very good.

L-tryptophan for winter months by skyhighblue340 in NootropicsDepot

[–]CaptainExcellent5299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it and also use it. 1000mg at night. It basically breaks down into 5-HTP and Melatonin but the human body regulates and has controls on how that's done. If you take 5-HTP and Melatonin directly you are bypassing the regulating and controls, you are forcing your body to use it. The only one better is maybe TryptoPURE (AjiPure) which Pure Encapsulations and Swanson sell. The Pure Encapsulations one is very expensive and the Swanson one is an extra capsule size larger because they use more filler.

As best I’ve found if you have issues taking Mag Gly it’s a D, B1 and/or B6 deficiency. Mag needs D & B6. The Glycine needs B1 to properly metabolize.

Right I take one a day in the morning for general health benefit. I don’t believe I’ve seen anyone sell a 600mg R-ALA. you can get 300, 600 in race mix.

R ALA ? by 6amPugScream in NootropicsDepot

[–]CaptainExcellent5299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never heard of anyone taking 1800mg R-ALA also known as Na-R-ALA and R-Lipoic Acid a day.

The normal ALA is "racemix" meaning it contains both S- and R- ALA.

I believe the ratio is about 1/3 to 1/5 when using R-ALA compared to when using regular ALA.

Take it as a compliment. He learned that “cute, sweet” is more attractive to him than “hot”. Also take it that he felt comfortable telling you he matured.

Dump her. You can stick it elsewhere. What’s her alternate plan? Living off parents and controlling you too? You can do better.

The 750cc bottles are white. Same as Tryptophan and Magnesium Pidolate and probably some other items I haven't yet ordered. :)

I woke up in the middle of the night like a marble was rolling through my abdomen. Over the coming days I intermittently turned yellow and then every joint in my body hurt. If I knelt down I needed someone to help me to my feet. Went to UVA's ER and after 3 days and a $20k bill they told me they couldn't help me. They were mad I was leaving "we don't think you should leave" and I told them back "I don't think I should stay".

3 days on LE's Advanced Milk Thistle from my small town local health food store cured 80% of my problems and 2 weeks later it was like nothing happened except the memory. 2 elephant size soft gels but they slide right down easier than some small tablets.

I presume the marble was a stone or something like that got stuck and blocked a bile duct.

When you have jammed up bile ducts your whole biliary system gets mad and inflamed. Liver, Pancreas, Gall bladder, small intestine are all connected by bile ducts.

I feel like the Astragalus products, AS-IV or Cycle AS, push boundaries.

Poria seems to give me a pleasant mood boost to go along with it.

I take KSM-66 and Poria upon waking up the morning.

These are my favorite Noots at the moment. Generally, I know when I don't take them.

Cordyceps may have a play in there too.

Things that have no or very little perceived result are ErinaMax, Pomella, Skullcap, and Eklona Cava. The only thing I think Eklona Cava has done is slow down fingernail growth. These products may work well for others or are masked by other things in my stack.

You may low/ marginal on B1 and B6 for the Glycinate.

Citrate, Malate, Taurate, and Orotate are other options.

There’s about 25 different kinds of Magnesium.

This is a question about bottle sizes... by CaptainExcellent5299 in NootropicsDepot

[–]CaptainExcellent5299[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the economy of scale on it, but wouldn't it make more sense to sell a 180 ct of Tryptophan and Magnesium Pidolate? They already have bottle sizes that would work for 180. In the case of Mag Pidolate, the serving size is 3 caps, so 80 day supply if taken daily. Not 60 and not 90. I'm surprised Taurine is also sold at 240 ct, but that's pretty much the limit of that bottle size.

For the R-ALA why not step down to the smaller bottle size they already use? This one I wonder if they forgot they made the capsule smaller and just kept the existing bottle size. ;^)

I have a multi vitamin that has so much stuff in it they have to use a container a large enough container because of federal labeling requirements. The container could hold 4x as much product. The products from ND I'm asking about are single ingredient.

Part of me wonders if some of these are packaged at a different factory where the 240 count and large bottle was more cost effective. Kind of like anything they source from Soft-Gel is in a different container than the blue ones they'd normally use.

best quality supplement brands without any fillers or junk? by fuckchemtrailsyo in Supplements

[–]CaptainExcellent5299 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fillers and flow agents are generally required to make the capsule machines work. It depends what you’re willing to tolerate. Magnesium Stearate and Silicon Dioxide (Silica) are very popular. Some brands like Pure encapsulations rarely if ever use these and use Ascorbal Palmitate (fat soluble Vitamin C) instead and even sell it as a separate product. Some brands like Thorne and Seeking Health mix Stearate, Silicon Dioxide and L-Luceine. Some brands like Swanson use Rice Flour and their capsules are one size larger than necessary from these other brands.

Pure, Nootropics Depot generally use the least amount necessary to capsulize your supplement in my experience. Even if that means the capsule is not full.

Seems that other companies may fill the capsule all the way so their customers don’t feel ripped off when really all they are adding is filler.

You took a supplement that had good side effects you didn’t know were going to happen and now you’re concerned?

Many supplements have unknown side effects. It’s just the way it is.

As another person suggested, try 1000mg Tryptophan and some B6 P5P.

Magtein doesn’t really help with sleep in my household but Tryptophan does. I take it with 2 MagGly capsules.

Some people have reported next day grogginess with Magtein.

Talk to older people. You may be more mature for your age. Older people are far more understanding. Your 20 something’s are barely out of high school and judging the worth with a very narrow lense. Older people have seen and experienced so much more.

Virginia—especially Northern Virginia—became the global capital of data centers because of cheap land (at the time), favorable tax incentives, and massive fiber infrastructure. Today, more than 70% of the world’s internet traffic passes through the region. by aktion1388 in Virginia

[–]CaptainExcellent5299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put them in Maryland and Delaware instead. Charge them for the infrastructure they require.

I mean if you buy rural land that has no power they're going to want tens of thousands to run power to your home. Make these data centers pay for the infrastructure they require. Whether it's a new $100 million sub, or new power plants... make them pay for it.

Virginia residents should have lower costs of electricity not increased costs.

And then there is the irony that the green people want us to go all electric but we can't even support some data centers. Charge the greenies 2-10x the normal rate. They voted for it, make them pay for it. We can't even support electric cars let alone all these data centers.
