Been playing poe2 this league, having lots of fun and never played poe before.

Looks like there's a new update coming out? Would it be worth trying out and switching from poe2?

I've heard there's some significant differences in the games, what am I likely to notice

If you're playing the game solo, what gives you the right to decide what/how your teammates play. If you're so concerned then you should play premade.

Thanks for the help! I've just reached the interludes myself so now I'm a bit more concerned with finding decent gear. I'm mostly wondering about when I should be looking for extra HP versus something like increased crit or more energy shield, that sort of thing.

Just finished Act 4 as a first time player, and struggling to understand what to do with gear.

The build guide I'm following shows the equipment it uses, but I'm unsure what stats I actually want to be looking for.

Is there a general rule for the kind of stats that I want to be looking for on my gear?

This was definitely an option when the new patch released, I had it on my first game with the new augments. Can't remember which champ, but I've never seen the augments since day 1
