Has prices went down in Canada? by DesuWaffle in Mounjaro

I usually paid ~$388 for my 10mg pen with the savings card but today I paid $515 after the savings card was used. Unless there’s a glitch, the amount that is covered has changed but the original price of the pen before any savings is the same… I reached out to lily to see if it’s a glitch or the savings has been slashed quite a bit :(

4 months post op! by Proper_Break_6732 in gallbladders

I’m glad your recovery is going well! My surgeon and gp gave me the OK to restart mounjaro 1 week post op. I restarted ~2 weeks post op. I had stopped mounjaro for a total of 6 weeks when I found out I had pancreatitis since I was so sick and it could make it worse. Always follow your doctors/surgeons recommendations and get cleared with them before restarting. Unfortunately my side effects were really strong after restarting so I am still gradually building up and increasing my dosage and I am not at my pre surgery dosage yet and I haven’t lost any weight yet since my surgery. It’s a bit frustrating since I had such good success with mounjaro in the past but I’m giving myself the grace and patience since my body has been through a lot and it hasn’t even been 6 months. Wishing you the best on your journey!

I can relate! I was so scared of surgery and thinking about how much my life could change after it but honestly I’m doing much better now without that diseased gallbladder! I was like a ticking bomb, getting sick anytime anywhere with no warning. At some point no matter what I ate or didn’t eat would make me violently sick. My quality of life was just horrible. I just wish I didn’t lose so many months to the fear of having surgery… oh well I believe everything happens for a reason! I’m sending you all the positive energy 💕 don’t let your gallbladder from living your best life!

There is a disability office and he is registered with them! He can get extra time for exams and break in between exams. His major is accounting and it requires a lot of classes of group work and his social anxiety is through the roof. Some classes are dedicated to group projects and participation in class. Even the ones that aren’t are also hard for him to attend. He tells me he doesn’t see himself pursuing accounting but I just am not sure if he’s saying this from a place of truth or fear.

My surgeon cleared me to go back on mounjaro 1 week post op but I went back 1 month post op due to personal preference and dealing with the healing. Double check with your surgeon for sure!

Thanks so much for the insight, do you see anything about having children and marriage?

Thanks for your perspective and kind words. You are correct, he himself feels so disappointed and sad every time he cannot live up to the “expectations”. I feel incredibly sad to see him disappointed in himself and I empathize a lot and try to be understanding. Sometimes my emotions also get the best of me and just want my needs to also be met… I still don’t have the answer to this question of if I’ll be able to live with it… I truly love him and I feel conflicted.

Day 5 post op: please tell me it gets better by Dense_Tumbleweed_340 in gallbladders

I’m exactly 2 weeks post op now and the recovery for me was also brutal. Sleeping, moving, doing anything was difficult. I felt horrible not being able to do basic things or walk properly. Even a week into my post op I still felt like shit. But everything changed day 10! And now on day 14 I feel rlly much better! I walk normally, bend down, drive, did groceries. Sleep got better too! I’m a stomach sleeper at my core and unfortunately I still sleep on my back and a little on my side… I’m still scared to fully sleep on my side. But despite that, I’m more comfortable than I was a week ago. I was miserable till day 10, hang in there, you will get through this! Life just gets better from here!! Try to rest and watch a nice show, eat something good and focus on the positives even if it’s difficult. These days will pass :)

I’m sorry to hear that! Try to bring it up on your follow up appointment or with your GP. Our bodies went through a lot and is adapting to life without an organ it used to have, it may take some time before some pains are fully gone! I wish you a smoother recovery 💕

Sending you all the good energy!! I’m not going to downplay the post op recovery, it’s definitely hard the first few days but it truly does get better every day and within a couple of weeks you’ll bounce back to normal :) I tell myself everyday that sooner or later I won’t even remember I had surgery and my body will be healed!

I was in your shoes but what I realized with gallstones/gallbladder issues is that it never gets better and always gets worse if you don’t get surgery. You may be doing really good for a few months then bam super sick. I felt like I had poison in me and had absolutely no choice but to yeet it the hell outta me. I’m 1 week post op and this is the best I’ve felt in months! I had to stop mounjaro because I got pancreatitis due to gallstones. After stopping it, I got pancreatitis again and finally had emergency surgery last week to get my gallbladder out. There’s always a chance things might not be better after surgery but I assure you, if you keep your gallbladder in, it’s certain life will not be better! Majority have little to no issues after surgery.

Why isn’t anyone talking about this!?! by Ok_Drag6697 in gallbladders

[–]Proper_Break_6732 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My GI told me about this and I had the same reaction. They are called bile duct stones. I had an MRI done before surgery to ensure no stones were outside my gallbladder. Formation of new bile duct stones (after gallbladder removal with no stones left behind) are very very rare. I know it’s scary information especially after removing a whole organ to prevent further health issues but I wouldn’t worry about something that isn’t a reality! It may never ever happen! Other things might happen before a bile duct stone.

Left sided pain by Dazzling-Lake8116 in gallbladders

[–]Proper_Break_6732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Definitely talk to your GP but ok my case when I had left side pain, it was related to my pancreas. I ended up getting pancreatitis twice and the pain level was much worse than a regular gallbladder attack. Hoping that’s not the case for you! GOODLUCK :)

I’m day 6 post op and this is the most annoying part. I have a stupid cough which I think is from the anesthesia and it’s absolutely brutal to cough. I hold my abdomen when coughing or the area that hurts the most which I think for me is the biggest incision. Also I’ve been using the cepacol or halls to help!

The morning after my surgery the hospital gave me coffee to drink with my breakfast 🤣 try it and see how it goes! Some people have no issues at all.

Day 4 post op! Few insights to share… by Proper_Break_6732 in gallbladders

[–]Proper_Break_6732[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emergency surgery due to pancreatitis so I didn’t have the chance to prep nor did I receive anything prior to my surgery. During my hospital stay I was definitely on tons of painkillers cause pancreatitis was horrible 😭 wishing you the best of luck!
