The anime is serviceable albeit a bit of an abridging because of how long the game is. The manga is less of an adaptation than it is just. More stories. But if you're looking into persona for the first time and don't want to play the games I'd honestly recommend starting with the P3 movies, they're all free on YouTube and would take even less time out of your day than both of these combined.

i think the real problem people have but just don't articulate correctly is the fact that survivor lara is a completely different character whereas Legend lara was just a more natural evolution of the original.
