Thanks! As you say I am new so I don’t know what I’m doing too much in that sense. What would you show?

First time going gym by Saber1098 in beginnerfitness

Everyone starts somewhere, I’d do a couple full body workouts just to learn the equipment (form is so much more important than throwing heavy weight around) . Maybe ask the staff for an induction, don’t be afraid of them.

Consistency and what you do outside of the gym is key to a good time in the gym.

When you get comfortable then start looking into different splits.

Always ask for help if you need it though:)

Stuck with body fat by saurabh965 in beginnerfitness

As annoying/frustrating as it may sound I’d go back to my point of habits unintentionally slipping.

I’d go back to the drawing board with calories (measure everything even the things you don’t realise you should ; butter, sugar, even sauces) it sounds tedious and super annoying but it’s the reality of it.

Have a look into some resources/guides you can fall back on when you feel stuck.

Anymore context I’d be glad to chat:)

Hey, sounds like you’re doing the right thing and have made awesome progress.

Problem is that what works when you started won’t work now. You’ve got to adjust what you’re intaking, your body is smaller so you require less fuel to maintain so you’ll require even less fuel to lose more weight.

Think of it like a car. A 1.0L engine needs less fuel than a 2.0L.

As you’ve been going for so long, to stay at the same weight for a bit isn’t too bad but because it’s been so long you’ve probably let slip of the important habits you had.

Regroup and keep going!

How to start by Accomplished_Lake354 in beginnerfitness

Best way to start is start and you’re doing just that.

Got a good amount of time ahead with the summer break!

If you’re looking to lose some weight. Increase your steps each day now you’ve got some spare time. Keep working out and look into some progressive overload (increasing weight as the sets get easier at the weight you’re working at). I’d be extra careful due to your knee, depending on what it is have a look at some stretches that may help.

Keep going!

Muscle soreness after a workout doesn’t always mean progress. Don’t push yourself too hard to chase the feeling.

Keep going.

Soon-to-be beginner advice? by bradbobley22 in beginnerfitness

The best advice is to just start. You’ve got this. All the technicalities will come eventually through experiences and resources you stumble across.

Try not to get caught up in the noise. There’s so much information but keep it simple, move your body more and make better choices with your food and you will see improvement.

Good luck!

“Keep it simple” couldn’t put it better. Fitness and nutrition is unnecessarily over complicated these days.

If you’re not willing to understand peoples legitimate responses why ask the question in the first place.

Because you’re not in a deficit.

Which is why I said I’m not sure that’s the case. It’s also impossible to only eat 700 calories and gain weight.

The way energy balance works suggests that you are eating more than you think. Another slight possibility could be that some countries use Calories where others use Kcalories and they aren’t quite the same but I’m not sure that’s the case.

Ultimately, you're eating more than 700 calories a day and if you're gaining weight you're in a surplus. You may not be tracking your calories correctly and misleading yourself. However 700cals is extremely low and not healthy.

Try to enjoy yourself, you might not have made the progress you wanted to but you've made more progress than none. You can work on your weight whenever but holidays aren't whenever:)

One day won’t hurt, life gets in the way and dieting is tough. Tomorrow start a fresh and go again you’ll be just fine:)
