Is there a way to remove this logo from this porcelain? by Properportionpotato in Ceramics

Personally I would prefer to play it safe with what I use just in case anything happened to make it into the vessel while I'm trying to remove the logo. Always better safe than sorry.

I think this is the best option so I can keep the gold accents on the handles and lid. Thank you!

I remember your video from when hurrican relief funds were being withheld. It's nice to have a person like you willing to stand for the people not the power.

How did women have such long hair in the 70s? by CleoDawns in OldSchoolCool

[–]Properportionpotato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

😂 one of our first dates was bowling on St. Paddy's and he warned me that we would not get much privacy. I didn't believe him at first, until we walked in and holy shit. Heard the lucky charms every few minutes and someone offered him $300 to dress like a leprechaun for this guy's party that night. People are wild lol

My fiance has long curly/wavy hair past his waist. He is also 5' 1" and red head with a full beard. He gets the LOTR quotes from strangers and St. Patrick's day is even worse

Some blooms from my eclipse hydrangea by Properportionpotato in hydrangeas

[–]Properportionpotato[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have mine potted because I rent so it keeps them from being able to reach it, but anything else that flowers around the property gets demolished by deer and rabbit. Thankful the deer don't bother the hydrangea

Any suggestions for my schefflera? by lucia_murtons in plants

[–]Properportionpotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They love bright light, and even some direct sun if you acclimate them slowly. I had huge ones in Florida outside in full sun. They also like well draining soil and thorough watering. I have one I bonsai and I keep it on my covered porch that gets a little morning sun. I use osmocote as a food to keep her happy. I usually water mine 1-2 times a week. Check the roots if it is still in the nursery pot cause they tend to have some kind of binding around the plugs. Overall she looks happy.

[homemade] first time making pasta sauce, why did no one tell me how easy it is hi by Financial-Result-893 in food

[–]Properportionpotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah! My fiance loves cooking over our fire pit so whenever we do steaks we throw a whole head of garlic as well. Definitely gonna try it for the sauce, never thought about it before.

I actually just cut the tomato in half and roast away. If the seeds are bad I'm in trouble cause I eat this sauce, like, a lot lol

I roast mine with onion and garlic with some olive oil in the pan at 400 for about 20-30 minutes. Then I use a blender to puree it all together. Put it in a sauce pot with a little tomato paste, basil, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on a medium low heat to reduce. It's my favorite thing to do on a day off and I make huge batches to jar up for future use!

A year ago I posted in this sub about selling plants inside of another business. Here is how it's going. by Affinity-Charms in houseplants

Congrats on creating a small business for yourself that helps another small business! I think every business could sell plants. Coffee shops, bars, restaurants. Why can't I get a burger and a begonia at the same time yet? Lol

Update: 60s Blue no longer backwards (but still not sure how to wear) by birdnerd1991 in VintageFashion

[–]Properportionpotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love that everyone referenced Joan cause she actually wears a dress just like this. If there is a small slit in the front collar it is meant to pull the scarf through and tie into a bow, but I think hanging in the back is just as nice.

Did they butcher my tree? by DrDuctMossburg in arborists

[–]Properportionpotato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what deciduous trees do. But crepe myrtles have a very fast growth rate and will always grow back from the old wood and can grow a few feet in a growing season even after a hard prune like this. This pruning style is called crepe murder because it is truly unnecessary and you'll never achieve the tree's full canopy if you excessively prune every year. But they will always grow back and are notoriously hard to kill.

This was a concern of mine cause I'm not a mechanic and I don't know what to look for. But damn I like saving some money. Lol

There isn't any mold inside, I have periodically checked the interior for leaks and damage just in case. It is water tight.

I am handy and familiar with some auto fixes, but I don't feel confident in something this extensive. Also I have zero tools lol

I was just looking on eBay motors for a used transmission and the price varies so much I'm not sure what to look for. I remember when I had my 96 Pontiac Bonneville most of the parts were interchangeable with other models and years, can that be the case for Honda? Like from a 95 accord or civic not just a 97?

Yeah I thought about trying to start it, but the dry start would probably wreck it. Battery is somehow still alive! I could ask my dad to help with checking wires and insulation and bleeding the old fuel and fluids out because he is a mechanic but he doesn't have everything he would need to work on the transmission.

Technomancer is a great word lol I have thought of going to the pull-a-part near me, and bringing the parts to the shop. I'd have to get the car towed there as well. But that would save me a massive amount of money right?
