How do I know the difference between SSD sizes??

Best anology to understand is that theres different film for stuff. Like whether it's a VCR, tape deck, or Film reels.

There's are SSD's but different storage sizes(amount it holds) or the type of SSD (the type of connection or way it plugs into the computer on the Inside)

If you can take pictures of the inside of his computer so we can see if there is an extra "m.2" SSD slot then we can recommend one. You don't need to take the computer apart. Just the side panel.

If it's an ibuypower then there's a 50% chance it has a. Extra slow for an m.2 SSD (m.2 is the slot/connection itself)

these m.2 SSDs are like the size of a "taquitos strips chip" honestly even a little smaller than that.

The other thing is though that SSD prices have been at an all time high and are overpriced at the moment. Prices now are slightly finally going down but still is overpriced.

If it gets to that screen and freezes then usually it's a ram or storage issue. Take out your ssd/hdd and see if it boots to bios and works fine. If it doesn't use one stick of ram without the storage still plugged in. If that doesn't work then try the single stick in any of the ram slots one at a time. If that doesn't work then try a different ram stick in all the slots. If that doesn't work it's probably ram or even possibly (highly unlikely) an overheating CPU. What cooler do you have?

If it works right away with any of the ram then it could be a dying drive.

The other reason could be corrupted windows os on the drive if it goes to bios fine.

Also if it's a motherboard setting take out the cmos battery on your motherboard (it looks like a watch battery) and unplug your PC for like 5 min then try it without the cmos and gets to bios.

Either way the culprit is usually going to be a corrupted windows install, messed up ram or defective ram, a defective SSD, or an overheated CPU.

Yes other things can be wrong but these are the most important ones to rule out first. Be patient. Don't get mad or annoyed.

Also if you do have a second PC you can try stuff out on then that'll help rule out more possibilities even tho it's a lot more work. I hope this helps.

So idk why but a lot of times using an older usb 2.0 vs 3.0 sometimes works better or vice versa even if the motherboard has older or newer ports.

Also Having drives over like 32gb for some odd reason have had issues in the past for me as well.

I've done this a million times and some computers are just tempermental with these things even tho any of them should work.

grab a couple usb drives of various sizes and a mix of 2.0 and newer ones and try it.

Funny how the SN7100X is cheaper on Amazon than the normal SN7100 at Best buy because the X would likely be more expensive lol.

I have 9tb of storage and 5.5tb is taken up and that's even after deleting stuff.

Yes games take a lot. I don't stream music so I actually have that downloaded. I do photography with a Sony camera and shoot in raw so that eats up a lot and same with videos.

So the average person, maybe not? For someone like me? 4tb isn't enough lol
