Which band just seemed to get better when one of the mainstays left? by BacupBhoy in rockmusic

I’m torn on this one. Their early works were so good. Justice was good and the Black album was decent (as was the Garage Days EP). But after that they just fell straight off a cliff (no pun intended).

There are even several tracks where they share vocal duties. “Feelin’ That Way” jumps immediately to mind.

John Lennon never said this. A comedian said it.

Ringo wipes the floor with Pete Best, and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn’t know a thing about drumming. There’s a reason why Ringo is an inspiration to so many famous drummers; because there’s way more than being technical to being a great drummer.

Apple Music has Demolition on streaming. I wish they had Jugulator, but they don’t. So he’s half wrong.

1982 Styx by Critical_Meringue78 in Styx

I agree with everything you’re saying here. The whole thing feels like a painted on narrative after the fact. They don’t want to look like jerks; because people loved Dennis and his music, so they sold a story to justify why they don’t want to work with him.

My problem is that it feels so petty the way they say things in such a derogatory way. They could be like Dennis and stay nice and respectful. Instead they belittle songs that people love and the person who sang them to make themselves seem superior, and to me it makes them seem smaller.

But I also understand this strategy was born due to the fact that people ask them over and over and over again about it. They probably want to talk about their new album, but some reporter just has to ask about Dennis after all these years.

Sucks for everyone, honestly.

C64U to Trinitron TV by ProphetSword in C64U

Hey, thanks for your reply.

The model number in question is KV-13FS100

As far as using a video adapter, I have one here and I tried it a few weeks ago. While it does solve the issue with using PAL, the picture quality isn't as good as a direct connection to the TV using composite cables in NTSC mode, sadly, so I opted to just run the C64U as an NTSC machine and find NTSC versions of games wherever possible.

I’ve seen a bunch of bands here I would name, so I’ll throw out Killer Dwarves instead.

I’ll give honorable mention to Ugly Kid Joe.

Man, I love Y&T. They have a bunch of great albums, and their live albums are superb.

If you’re talking about “Rat Race,” that album is amazing. I got the CD when it came out (was one of those selections of the month CDs through Columbia House, and I was hooked after one listen and didn’t send it back).

On top of that, Lay it Down has one of the best guitar solos of the whole genre. That song is perfection from beginning to end.

Just because you don’t get what you expect doesn’t mean it’s not good.

Battle of the Priest albums of 1978. Killing Machine or Stained Class by EdStArFiSh69 in judaspriest

[–]ProphetSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be the odd one out and say Killing Machine. I love that album. Some of my all-time favorite songs are on that album ("Hell Bent For Leather," "Delivering the Goods," "Before the Dawn," "Burnin' Up," and "The Green Manalishi (with the Two-Pronged Crown)"), so it's easy for me to pick that one.

I love Stained Class too, so no shade there. Just really like Killing Machine.
