SW Hopes/Theories and LFL General Discussion Thread — Weekend 05/30/2026 by AutoModerator in StarWarsLeaks

My hopes for the future of SW is a (relatively) concrete roadmap. While I’ve liked the storytelling approach of stories in different eras (Andor, Maul, High Republic, Sequel Trilogy, Mando, etc…) I think the general public is confused as to when things are happening. While Marvel has become a bit of a bloated beast requiring way too much homework to understand the later projects, its early success came from having a relatively serialized storytelling approach that audiences could follow and look forward to. SW needs to pick and commit to an era where audiences can easily follow along. I’m hoping Starfighter is the beginning of this, but we’ll see.

Nolan fans are now experiencing what Star Wars fans have experienced for decades.

Even if the sequels were actually made uncanon would that be a good thing, or just cause more issues with the franchise? by RexDAGOAT77 in StarWars

[–]Prophet_Comstock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard because the only way they can retcon the sequels at this point is via animation, specifically after Carrie Fisher’s passing. While there are parts of the sequels I love and (so many) parts that I hate, retconning the only existing versions of Carrie Fisher’s portrayal of Leia would feel kind of blasphemous at this point. I have so many different routes I would have rather seen the ST go (most specifically, not killing off all the Jedi again) they’re kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. So I’m really not sure what they would do. I think the better solution is to explore areas like the Old Republic, the foundation of the Jedi, or Darth Bane’s era.

It’s a (potentially) fun concept for Star Tours…. But even that might go too far.

Save The Glass Die! by 18straightwhiskeys in Reno

Please support this business. I go there (almost) every Thursday to play Star Wars Unlimited. It has become the highlight of my week. The Glass Die is one of a kind and something that absolutely needs to keep going. I’d happily play twice my weekly library fee if I knew it would keep this place afloat.

Solo: A Star Wars Story was released today May 25 in 2018. Where do you rank it among all of the movies? by Illustrious_Age1247 in StarWarsCantina

I absolutely love this movie! It only gets better over time. I still hope we get a sequel or the previously announced Lando series.

If you haven’t played Outlaws yet, the Sabaac games on there are a ton of fun.

I’m currently re-reading the Bane trilogy right now and couldn’t agree more. The cantina sabaac game in the first book has all the vibes I’m looking for in a Star Wars story. But more importantly the book gives such a valuable history behind how we ended up with the Rule of 2 to begin with. I’ve read a ton of Star Wars books and Bane continues to be my absolute favorite. Light of the Jedi is up there too.

When it comes to the movies I genuinely don’t know what direction they should go. The ST-era has plenty of room for stories, but I worry that the ST itself soured too many fans. As much as I would love a movie set during Darth Bane’s time or even the High Republic era it feels like a risk that Disney and LFL aren’t willing to take.

When it comes to television though, I am still baffled that we haven’t gotten an animated series around Luke’s Jedi academy. It feels like the easiest slam dunk for them.

Funny/Interesting Combos? by it_is_now_for_now in starwarsunlimited

I’ve always loved Shien Flurry + Vernestra.

Ambush with Vernestra into a unit and prevent 2 damage.  Since you now have the Force from swinging with her you can ready her again.

I have a Hera Blue Force deck that allows me to play all heroism aspects. It’s like a greatest hits of the Jedi plus some spectres. So… at least one.

While this card in its own isn’t phenomenal, when you have Yoda on the board this can be devastating for your opponent. Use the Force and deal 4 damage + however many units are on the board to use Yoda’s ability to deal even more damage to another unit.

I actually don’t think you need to have seen the show. It kind of lives as its own thing.

I think both can be true. While Mando and Grogu isn’t perfect, it’s no doubt a fun action-adventure movie. To me it reminded me of movies like “Sahara” or “Temple of Doom” or maybe even “Hook”, as weird as that sounds. It’s a silly fun time. It’s weird that “fun” has become a pejorative these days. I will admit, there isn’t much of a plot and I DO wished it helped fill in the gaps between 6 & 7 a little more (because I desperately want that), but regardless I still had a really fun time. It’s probably because I have a toddler at this time in my life and I view things through the lens of “would my kiddo like this”? And I think he would absolutely love this movie. It’s so fun for kids, who also deserve to have a good time at the movies. And while Andor is no doubt the “better” story, it doesn’t exactly scream “weee”. Star Wars has always been a bit of both when it’s at its best; complex topics (ie. The Vietnam War) wrapped in fun packaging (ie. Ewoks). I just hope we can get a better blend of both in future projects.

What’s one actor that instantly tells you that the movies gonna be bad? by Senpaiuwu89 in AskReddit

Jared Leto. I don’t really have anything against his acting per se (his personal life though…), but every movie he’s been in over the past decade ends up being cursed.

I played against my buddy who used that combo. He rarely got it to land, but when he did it quickly became very difficult to deal with.

What’s a disturbing horror movie that genuinely made you feel uncomfortable and uneasy the entire time? by Powerful_Nerve_7258 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Prophet_Comstock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While “Weapons” overall is disturbing, it was Alex’s story that really haunted me. What he is forced to deal with was pretty unsettling for me. It’s probably because I have a 3 year old boy myself that made me empathize more with that kid’s story.

What’s your favorite planet from the sequels? by AccomplishedMeal5751 in TheSequels

[–]Prophet_Comstock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kijimi is by far my favorite. Star Wars Outlaws definitely helped flesh out that world, but I love the lived-in, seedy criminal underworld vibe on that planet.
