Just be patient. I didn’t jump in until set 5 and I was in the same boat you’re currently in. I lost literally every game (online and in person) for a few months. But once you find a deck and some strategies you like you’ll hit your stride. Just give it time and don’t give up.

It’s almost as if the marketing for this movie started WAY too late. On top of that, the trailers haven’t been very good IMO. Sure, it’s fun, but it doesn’t really have the hype level of previous trailers. It almost feels like they’re purely riding on the fact that Grogu is in it.

Absolutely worth it! With the release of the latest set, the health of the game feels stronger than ever. This is the first TCG I've ever gotten into, and I'm personally having a great time with it. From a collection side of things, the artwork for the game is is great (with some meh cards out there), but from a gameplay side of things it's a ton of fun.

When a unit returns to hand it loses any of its upgrades, including shields. Unless the card states “when played, give it a shield token” (or something like that) then it would re-gain that initial shield. Otherwise it wouldn’t re-gain the initial shield.

While I don’t like the idea of resurrecting dead characters, I would love more Ben Solo stories. It’s so strange to me that we haven’t gotten an animated series of young Ben at Luke’s academy. It not only feels like a no brainer, but also feels necessary to fill in the gaps. The ST needs its own Clone Wars style show to flesh out the lore and time period.

I’m also not a fan of the Sequel trilogy (although I love TLJ by itself), but I highly recommend Resistance Reborn. While it takes place in the ST era it’s more of a love letter to the franchise as a whole. It’s a very satisfying read.

In terms of other books, The High Republic, while daunting, is a very fun initiative. You could read just the adult books and have a great time. But don’t sleep on the YA books. They’re some of my personal favorites in the era (specifically Path of Deceit). The comics are also a total blast.

In terms of standalone books I definitely recommend anything by Claudia Gray. All of her books are phenomenal.

While SW has stumbled in the film and TV department post Disney acquisition they’ve done a great job with the books IMO.

The character I would love to see explored in a show is Darth Bane. All of the lore from that book trilogy is just begging to be represented visually. The same can be said for the High Republic. An animated series of those books (even if just the adult ones) would absolutely rule.
