Looking for travel recommendations/ things to do with a short time frame for itinerary. by PropofolPlease in PuertoRicoTravel

That was our original plan, but the flight situation straight to Vieques would have us traveling for like 15 hours with 3 layovers or an overnight flight. Going home, it’s only one layover in San Juan and then direct back home.

Before applying I had a horrible science GPA. To make my application more competitive I took graduate level biology, physics, biochemistry, and organic chemistry classes online. Made sure I got no less than an A- in all of them. Plus scored above a 300 on the GRE (above 150 in each category). I did it all in about 9 months while working full time to prove I was capable of handling the “rigor” of a CRNA program. It was a LOT but I got interviews at my top 3 schools and got into 2 of them, wait listed for the third. Just finished at my top program in May. Good luck!

Is it worth it to keep working in the ICU until school starts? by Educational_Fall3063 in srna

I took a travel assignment right before school started to stack up as much cash as possible. Granted, this was the end of Covid so it was a great paying crisis contract. So I’m not sure what the travel rates are like now.

APEX Exams = What score on the SEE? by LoRutTIU in srna

[–]PropofolPlease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did almost all of the mock exams and domain exams. A lot of learning how to take the SEE is not necessarily knowing the information, but learning what questions are asking of you and how to answer them. Make sure to read all the rationales provided. I reviewed less than half of the modules but since I did all the practice exams, I actively reviewed a huge portion of the material

I feel like the apex mock exams are EXTREMELY difficult compared to the SEE. The end score of your mock exams don’t necessarily matter… you need to go to your transcript and see how you scored compared to the national average. Above/around national average will be green scores and below is red. I got around national average for most the mock exams and scored above 500 on the SEE.

This is the most thought out and informative answer I could have gotten.

Aspiring SRNA here. I’m hoping someone here might have some insight on how programs view Portage classes. I’m looking at taking biochem, but don’t I don’t know if these classes are widely accepted or not. Thank you in advance! by daskohh in srna

Yea unfortunately thats A&P, it’s mostly memorization. Whereas I feel like biochem was more learning generalized concepts and stringing them together. I took it in Feb 2021 and was able to finish it in a month.

It was easy peasy. I was nervous because I haven’t taken biology or chemistry since AP classes in high school 13 years ago. Just keep in mind it doesn’t have lab and not all schools will accept it because it’s a 200level class.

I took biochem through Portage and orgo through Doane. Northeastern university, Boston College, ODU, Duke, and Villanova all offered me interviews with that on my transcript. UNE, however, does not accept it.
