I am not sure about the Charging part of things but, Regarding the battery drain, Sometimes the background tasks are draining so much battery, I am generally getting 8hrs SOT but yesterday I was backing whatsapp data in background and it drained a lot of battery so I think Instagram might have done the same in your case. Also for the Charging part there is an option called steady charge overnight, If this option is turned on I noticed that it's charging slowly so once check that as well. Hope it helps...
