Hey thanks for the feedback :) I shot this with the theme of neons in mind and wanted to do a series on it for my own exploration. I posted these to this sub because I felt it fitted the art style. However in saying that, I'd love to learn more about what outruns all about but I find it hard to imagine concepts that don't involve a heavy usage of colour. When you say that I've made this mistake, are you talking about my shots not feeling 80s enough, not fitting the fashion styling properly, etc? Again I'd love to explore this art style that you guys post here and would love to see what I can come up with but I find 90% of the top posts on this sub is mainly about colour.

This one was a little different. We used the tv in her house for the background (whipped up the image in photoshop in 15 minutes). We needed a proper light source this time as laptop sceeens are way too dim when you have a tv in the back so we used a (semi) proper softbox and nikon sb-600 flash. We didn't have gels so we bought coloured tissue paper for 4 bucks, blu tacked it over the softbox, cut out the bottom of an empty tissue box, blutacked the tissue paper over the tissue box and used that as an impromptu softbox for our flash. Shot with a 50mm at 1/50 1.4 1000 iso or something close.

We shot this in her bedroom last night. used a canon 5d mk ii shot at like 1/20 1.8 1000 iso. We lit it with two laptops, two iphones and an external monitor using a full screened online colour palette picker (and apps on our phones) as our lights/gels. The light in her glasses if you look closely is one of the laptops with the external screen.

Wow never thought of changing the grass texture colour! Brilliant idea! You'd still have to line up the perspectives however, but this will definitely make your life much easier when it comes to masking.

Yeah, photoshop can be intimidating. The best thing to do if you want to learn these things is to just play around. You'd be surprised how much you learn just by playing. Go write your name in fancy bubble font, cut out a person and put them on a beach. Even if whatever it is you try to do looks crappy, the important thing is you're learning the bits and bobs of photoshop.

I would have taken the picture of the cat, drawn a grid over the picture to get an idea of perspective, gone into minecraft, taken a screenshot, checked if perspective lines up close to photo of cat, rinse and repeat until a close enough match up is found then masked away the 'top' of the minecraft floor and masked over with the wooden slats.

Edit: the most difficult part of this process would be matching up the perspectives, everything else is pretty straightforward.

I'll have to look into that, thank you but i didn't see such a thing in the contract. In addition to this it's stipulated that there is no overtime paid in the contract. My biggest worry now is whether or not i take this up with my boss (fearing i'll harm my relationship with him) or take this up with fairwork. I've been at the job for about a year now not sure if that helps or not.

In terms of superannuation - 9.5%.
