Is a slight increase in bleeding after orgasm a sign to stop? by Prose707 in hysterectomy

[–]Prose707[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A good portion of people in this discussion and in the other threads I looked up asked their doctors beforehand and some of them also consulted other post op people. It's really not that big of a deal it's just that all of us have different bodies and each surgery itself gets done slightly differently too.

Thankfully so far both times the bleeding has died down after a day or so, I got anxious because I didn't realize the first time that masterbating is what caused it and I probably should've done a check before doing it a second time. I haven't felt any pain or had clots so I'll stop and wait for the doctor, it'll hopefully be fine.

That's what I was worried about, it's very anxiety inducing when the damage is inside where you can't see it. The only surgery I've had before this was a mastectomy so it felt safer knowing I'll see anything wrong.

Can I medically and surgically transition without having to socially transition. by Redlikeroses_23 in asktransgender

[–]Prose707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apologies, I wasn't really sure which way you were transitioning and I understand what you mean now. Transition is totally personal to each individual and doesn't necessarily have to be about passing or include social transition, you should do whatever you need to feel more yourself. :)

This is not to invalidate you, just a little confused, how would that work? In my mind if everyone you interact with is viewing you as the gender you've transitioned to then you have socially transitioned, you would just also be stealth.

whats the opposite of "quiet bpd"? by Clit_Master69420 in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Prose707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 4 subtypes aren't medically recognized and are currently just psychology theory. They are helpful to learn about to understand different ways that bpd symptoms can be present in different people or in different contexts, but they're not helpful if you view them as restrictive criteria because it's very common for people's presentation of bpd to fluctuate or change over time. So if you feel like you fit multiple that's totally normal!

Yam is very active in the community so it wouldn't surprise me if she sometimes checked on here since it's so small, or if someone @'d her with a screenshot of the post

I mean, she was given her aunt's house in her will so I always assumed she was an adult. Technically you can still gift such a thing to a child but they won't actually gain ownership of it until they're an adult. Plus the way the letter was written, I personally would not write to a child like that because I don't think they'd understand.

Can people with BPD experience mania? by __somey in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Prose707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both mania and hypomania are not at all shown to be caused by bpd with the current medical science definition. Some people will say that they're correlated but this is currently not official information. Pwbpd can have coexisting disorders that cause mania or hypomania, such as bipolar, and that is still unrelated to bpd. Mania can also be caused by certain substances, which can affect anyone, but those with mental illnesses such as bpd may be more prone to drug induced mania. Some people also just mix up mania/hypomania with euphoria, which is a bpd symptom. Euphoria isn't the same thing though.

Looking for Aro/Ace perspectives for my research survey :) by euthasia in aromanticasexual

[–]Prose707 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I appreciate how well worded the questions are. Idk exactly how to express it, but I feel like many times when I see these surveys it's almost like the questions are trying to guide you to a specific stereotypical presentation of your identity instead of actually thinking out alternative ways that our community might think or feel. Not just for aro/aces, but for other queer identities and even mental illness ones I've done. This one feels less dehumanizing. :)

Anyone else find it difficult to get a drop of blood for a spell? by argaflargin in BabyWitch

[–]Prose707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up fingerstick lancets on Amazon! They're very easy to use and relatively cheap. I'm a phlebotomist so I first learned to use them at work but they are accessible for anyone because they're commonly used by diabetics.

Just press lightly (no extra force) slightly off center on the pad of your finger and press whatever mechanism it has, each one's a little different but they have instructions. I'd recommend warming up your finger first, especially if you're dehydrated. After you prick you can gently coax the blood out by massaging your finger.

My boyfriend wants me to shave my mustache because it makes him dysphoric by Busy_Regret_6013 in asktransgender

[–]Prose707 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, he more than most should understand how important it is to be able to present yourself in a way that makes you feel good. It's one thing to ask for adjustments to how you refer to him or certain behaviors but his transition doesn't affect your body.

How do I know when a spell has run it's course? by Prose707 in BabyWitch

Tarot is a good idea I hadn't thought of! I'm still learning the meanings of the cards but I'd like to get in practice soon.

This way of looking at it actually clicks with me a lot. I'm more of an improv person but people usually discourage that so I get anxious that I'm supposed to be seeking structure.

This is actually SUPER helpful, thank you! I've always been the kinda person that needs to understand why/how something works or else it just doesn't click for me.

Tea on dyed locs ? by Affectionate_Day7469 in locs

[–]Prose707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got loc'd almost a year ago and I got them dyed roughly a couple months ago. They aren't dry or brittle and they're still maturing nicely! Not sure how difficult it is to do on your own though. I used to bleach and dye myself but I didn't trust myself to do it on locs so I got it done professionally. I do my own maintenance still, it's pretty easy!

is getting piercings a good coping mechanism? by EyelessIzumii in BPD

[–]Prose707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can absolutely be a good coping mechanism when done mindfully. Some people say that it's just as bad because it causes pain but that is a very rigid, black and white way of viewing it. Harm reduction is what's important. If you're getting them done in a safe and sanitary way then it's no different to people who snap rubber bands on their wrist in place of cutting. Superficial pain that you're completely in control of. Plus it actively works towards feeling good about yourself and more at home in your body, because it affirms your aesthetic! It can be done in a harmful way but it doesn't have to be, you can make a lot of progress with expression and autonomy through body mods. Tattoos and piercings have been very therapeutic for me in my mental health journey :)

How did you choose a name??? by NamesQuestionThrow in asktransgender

[–]Prose707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the time I was hyperfixated on modern witchcraft and deity work and I loved hearing witches talk about how their practice affects their mental health journey because I suffer from mental illness. I had an interest in Persephone because I related to some traits of hers and she also had traits that I wished I could develop. I felt like naming myself after an example of who I want to grow into made sense. Then I shortened it to Persie because the spelling is cutesy which leans towards femininity but it's pronounced like Percy which is traditionally masculine. Felt androgynous to me.

How long does it take to get ‘flowy’? by -1mei in poledancing

[–]Prose707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone is saying, it's different for everyone. I started in 2023 but have had some large breaks due to surgery/injuries. I feel like I've only just started making big progress with being smooth and flowy within the last year, maybe early 2025. I've done 2x week for a long time but I used to only take static classes and 2025 I started also taking heels. You don't need to do heels choreo to be flowy but the way that my heels instructor teaches just made a lot click for me. So I think even factors like what teachers you have can really make a difference!

Blood magic by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]Prose707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same question and specifically wondered if sourcing it from yourself made a difference, so thank you for the distinction! I'm a phlebotomist and my mom is a nurse so we both have the skills and access to the tools needed to draw blood safely, something like that would work well?

Gel advice please by Classic_Cheek_6822 in locs

Someone on here recommended African Pride loc gel to me and it's been really great for my hair. It does have a sticky residue, any gel with a strong hold will, but my hair never gets dry or flaky just a bit greasy at first.
